Ohio Governor John Kasich bests Donald Trump among Buckeye Republicans by a 34 to 29 percent margin. Ted Cruz is third with 19 percent. Marco Rubio trails with just 7 percent.

That’s according to a new Fox News poll of Ohio likely Republican primary voters. The governor’s edge is within the poll’s margin of sampling error.

Kasich is bolstered by positive evaluations of his job performance as governor. He has a sky high 79 percent approval rating among the Ohio party faithful.

In any state.

If you look at Cruz who is perfect for Texas where did his numbers Jump 22% in SC to 40% in Texas?

Ohio is more generic as well for any candidate to win so the bump couldn’t be 18 points.

We’ll see. Not that a 2 term governor winning his own state is anything to brag about. It would be a yuge humiliation if he loses.

Most polls have Trump over Kasich by 6. I don’t particularly like either one of them, and polls have been known to get it wrong. But if I were a bettin’ man, I’d say Trump over Kasich by about 3.

I think he’ll win it too, maybe not by that much but a 1 vote win gets all the delegates anyway.

Also he’s going to have a very, very good debate performance. Trump will be dragged down by Marco and Cruz while Kasich is allowed to smoothly ‘rise above’.

Kasich will win Ohio by at least ten point.

I can believe this, and not a problem. To beat two separate men in their home states on the same date would be phenomenal. I see Trump winning Florida though. To win MI, MS and FL within a week but loose OH, i'll take it, thats not a loss.

Kasich sucks even by RINO standards.

But, since he's been the governor, he BETTER at least take his home state.

I dislike Kasich intensely.

He's a liberal fruit-loop.

And I say this as a native-born Ohioan.

“I still think Trump has the best chance of winning Ohio.”

You were sure right about Idaho. I am praying you’re right about Ohio. ;>)

If Trump is only up 5 in most polls, he will probably come in second. We will soon see.

Quinnipiac 3/2 - 3/7 685 LV 3.7 38 32 16 9 Trump +6
CNN/ORC 3/2 - 3/6 359 LV 5.0 41 35 15 7 Trump +6
PPP (D) 3/4 - 3/6 638 LV 3.9 38 35 15 5 Trump +3

An indication of Kasich strength is he finished 3rd behind Cruz in Michigan. Ohio is similar to Michigan.

Kasich did lousy last night and nobody likes to waste voting for a Kasich who hasn’t won anywhere, can’t beat even Cruz let alone Rubio. Look how many delegates Kasich has.

Even if he won Ohio he is on the road to losing everywhere else. He is the only openly candidate for a smoke filled brokered convention.

This is a Fox poll, just like the WSJ poll was way off in South Carolina, WSJ is run by Murdoch, so you know its a lyin inaccurate biased BS, Crap poll.

Fox is the Ailes, Me Gyn Ho, Karl Rove, Steven Hayes network. All lies all the time.

Kasich may have been the establishment candidate all along. All the others were to make everyone look the other way. I’ve always been concerned about kasich. A brokered convention gives him the nomination

C’mon, don’t fall for this crap

Kasich ahead in new poll because of his stellar performance in Michigan, where he came in THIRD! Well, third is the new tied for first isn’t it?

Kasich touted Michigan as his springboard to Ohio. Not so much was it? BUT, his THIRD place finish apparently according to Fox, actually is a springboard. How convenient.

Let’s wait for a REAL poll, not this propaganda.

Oh lyin Ted is on with Butch. Everything out of this guy’s mouth is Bull$it. I can hear it in the background, I’ve got to go change the channel before I puke.

“I’m the only guy who has beat Trump over and over and over again.”

Trump has beaten Cruz over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again.

If you don’t allow Cruz to use the words “Donald Trump” he couldn’t speak.
