Cruz wins in Idaho

Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz is projected to win the Idaho primary.

NBC News called the race for Cruz just before midnight Eastern — less than an hour after polls closed in the state. Fox News called it moments later.

The state’s result was in great doubt leading into Tuesday's primary because of a lack of polling in the state. Most pundits had shied away from making a prediction.

The Texas senator was endorsed by Rep. Raul Labrador (R-Idaho), an influential member of the conservative House Freedom Caucus.

Idaho awards 32 delegates on a proportional basis.

There are a few states where Ted’s championing of trucon/socon values should be a winner, and Idaho is one of them (Iowa is another).

Nothing has changed since last summer, when I first challenged Cruz supporters to post a scenario where that kind of candidacy adds up to 270 electoral votes, and none have done so.

And, as you all know by now, the usual response from Ted’s supporters here is, “you hate America, you hate God (or Jesus), you’re probably a homo”.

So now, the question is no longer “which states that Romney LOST can Cruz win”, because that’s pretty clearly zero.

The right question for Cruz supporters now is, “which states that Romney WON can Cruz hold?”

” Please don’t be taken in by theatrics and shiny, slick words from a layer/politician.”

Cut me a break, you just described your man Trump with that statement. Ah, reality show and buying politicians with his money all through his career.

Cruz would have to win the same battleground states that Trump will need:

Virginia, North Carolina, Florida, Colorado, Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada, Wisconsin

>>Can’t say I’m surprised. Idaho has a definite theocratic vibe to i

I lived there for a few years. The Mormon influence is very strong in parts of the state. Romney’s speech would have some effect there.

He was reading bedtime stories to his girls. I thought it was wonderful. So many people liked Ted Cruz until Trump jumped in. Now all of sudden he is some evil person. It’s ridiculous. So you’re not voting for Cruz. Got it. I’m not voting for Trump. But you don’t see me all over the forum knocking him down.

Big stinking deal. So Cruz hasn’t gotten some little laws passed.

Awesome...just awesome. A person elected by the people of a state to do the people's business and enact legislation...ooops, sorry, meant to say "little laws". Just like Rubio...couldn't be bothered to do what they were elected to do. Too busy getting ready to run for President.

"Wow. Didn’t know anyone on this board actually wanted Obamacare like these TrumpHumpers who disparage Cruz’s filibuster."

Weak weak weak. I won't even grace that with a "nice try."

And just in case you really are stupid enough to believe what you said in your comment, do you realize that Cruz's filibuster didn't do any damage to obamacare?

Believe it or not, a person can oppose obamacare and still acknowledge that Cruz's filibuster was futile from the start. He could have delivered a resounding 15 minute speech with the same results.

Name the 3 billsCruz sponsored and got passed into law

It wasn't that long ago that Sen. Cruz was a hero on FR for standing for the Constitution. It's absurd to think that taking such a stand would gain him many allies in Congress.

Oh, JoSixChip good to have you back with your smart comments. Did you do anything to fight Obamacare? Did you call any members of Congress? Did you write any letters to the editor? And, oh, by the way, what the hey did Trump do to fight Obamacare?

That's just plain silly. Nether Trump nor I ran for office, which pays over $100k by the way, saying we would stop obumber on trade, the iran deal and obumbercare. All of which cruz ether directly did the opposite or failed miserably at.

Ted Cruz voted against TPA. Yet here you are still lying about it.

You mean after the deed was done and his vote was no longer needed. The truth is cruz not only voted for TPA, it was his leadership that got it passed in congress. That is the only time cruz showed successful leadership during his time as a Senator.

It was all of the sudden, but it had nothing to do with Trump. It was cruz's efforts and votes for TPA that did him in.
