Romney touts Cruz wins over Trump, will not reject GOP nod if drafted at convention
Fox News ^ | 03/06/16

Mitt Romney said Sunday that GOP presidential candidate Ted Cruz winning two primary states this weekend proves the Texas senator can stop front-runner Donald Trump, but declined to rule out his own White House scenario.

Romney, a former Massachusetts governor and the Republicans' 2012 presidential nominee, repeated remarks from last week, telling “Fox News Sunday” that he wouldn’t launch an eleventh-hour campaign for president. But he declined to reject being “drafted” at the GOP convention in July to be the party’s general election candidate.

“It would be absurd to say that if I were drafted I’d say no,” Romney said. “We have four strong people running for the nomination. One of them will be the nominee.”

Romney has occasionally weighed in on the 2016 GOP race. But he emerged in full force Thursday when he gave a speech in which he called Trump a “phony” and urged voters to instead back an establishment candidate like Cruz, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio or Ohio Gov. John Kasich.

The conservative movement has been infiltrated by progressives for quite some time. These moles call themselves conservative because that is what sells. They have now revealed themselves. They claim they would rather vote for Hillary and even Joseph Stalin. They are hoping for a Romney convention. That is because there is such a popular demand for Romney. The is not the result of alcohol abuse. It is not the result of smoking grass. It is pure unadulterated Lysergic acid diethylamide abuse.

The only issue in my mind about a Trump/Cruz ticket is how the Dems will react. Will they file suit to block Cruz from assuming office? It’s a tough one to call. I wish we could get a court to rule on Cruz’s eligibility.

If nothing else, Trump should have a quiet meeting with Cruz and offer him a SCOTUS seat. There would be no issues that way. If the Senate won’t confirm him, he could always do a recess appointment.

“All you Cruz bashers are just stupid.”

Until you can pull that tapeworm, Stabbly the Clown, out of Felito’s backside you should exercise some restraint. Unless that happens, any deals between Trump and Angel Raphael are likely DOA.

“If it’s the latter, I expect Cruz to do the right thing and endorse Trump at the convention.”

You hold Cruz in MUCH more esteem than I do. I’d like to be wrong, but I don’t see Cruz doing the right thing.

If you listen, you will hear “vote for cruise.” Not because they want him to be president, but because his losing to hillary may be the only way to stop Trump. “

I think you hit the nail on the head. Sad, but true.

“Romney touts Cruz wins over Trump, will not reject GOP nod if drafted at convention”

LOL!!!!!!!!!

Planning right out in the open. Likely they are the ones that got Cruz a bunch of “surprise” voters yesterday!

Do the Cruz people still think it was because of some surge of love for Ted?

Cruz doesn’t get too much say-so. Delegates would be autonomous except as restricted by state party rules.

He’s won two primary election states for crying out loud, that;s it.

Exactly. And, what did Romney win? Not as many votes as Trump ALREADY has won. And, certainly not the teed up, loose hanging fruit race against 0Dictator.

Romney touting (Jeb/Bush donor recipient) CRuz should be all folks need to know, to convince them that CRuz is NOT an outsider, but just the next GOPe/amnesty PAC supported puppet in line.

It wouldn't be a nod from the GOP, it would be a headbut to all formerly Republicans if it happened. Where oh where will the GOP get it's funding from if they continue to defecate on the Conservatives?

I’ve been using the site I linked with the graphic all year.

I don’t know how they do it, but they jump out ahead and hit it perfectly every time.

If you’ll check out the fully projected figures, you see that they account for all 883 delegates allotted at this time.

That’s why I went with that figure.

That figure has always turned out to be the final figure, unless a state declares an adjustment, which isn’t infrequent up to a couple of days later. That affects all the reporting agencies as well, so it’s a push.

You are correct. I’ve seen several other sites with lesser numbers. That was also the case as things have rolled out after the past primaries/caucuses.

I do too, if he won it would certainly be historic.

Question is, could he do it?

I heard Romney say his morning that he will endorse and campaign with one of the 3 non Trump candidates.

If its Cruz will you cruz supporters go along with that?

The only way Romney would be drafted is if the GOPestablishment wants Hillary in the Oval Office.

They are not going to seek out the guy who lost to the guy who lost to Obama in 2008.

They are not going to seek out the guy who lost to Obama in 2012.

Unless, they need another designated loser to lose to Hillary Clinton in 2016.

They would try Ryan before they would Romney.

“GOPe is threatening to VOID the Will of its Voters.”

They wouldn’t think twice about stealing it from Cruz who they consider little more than an annoyance.

Trump presents a whole different problem because his support isn’t just a portion of the GOP base. That’s threatening the will of R, D, and Indys.
