Romney touts Cruz wins over Trump, will not reject GOP nod if drafted at convention
Fox News ^ | 03/06/16

Mitt Romney said Sunday that GOP presidential candidate Ted Cruz winning two primary states this weekend proves the Texas senator can stop front-runner Donald Trump, but declined to rule out his own White House scenario.

Romney, a former Massachusetts governor and the Republicans' 2012 presidential nominee, repeated remarks from last week, telling “Fox News Sunday” that he wouldn’t launch an eleventh-hour campaign for president. But he declined to reject being “drafted” at the GOP convention in July to be the party’s general election candidate.

“It would be absurd to say that if I were drafted I’d say no,” Romney said. “We have four strong people running for the nomination. One of them will be the nominee.”

Romney has occasionally weighed in on the 2016 GOP race. But he emerged in full force Thursday when he gave a speech in which he called Trump a “phony” and urged voters to instead back an establishment candidate like Cruz, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio or Ohio Gov. John Kasich.

Just said the same
Cruz has won two, just two primary election states and that was his own and a neighboring state OK.

Hardly something to get excited about.

Mitt, the voters didn't want you in '12. Do you really think that they would want you after being shoved down our throats by the establishment? Good god, this man is delusional. If he thinks that he will swoop in and get people to vote for him.

One win in his career, in a 3 way election...in a very blue state, and the guy is like an STD that won’t respond to antibiotics.

He won’t go away!

Anyone that listens to Romney is not listening.

Actually, romney is the horses mouth. The horse being the GOPe.

If you listen, you will hear "vote for cruise." Not because they want him to be president, but because his losing to hillary may be the only way to stop Trump.

Rat Boy Romney wants to VOID the Republican Voter Will.

That way they can get Hillary Clinton elected.

All Romney is good is losing.

I knew Willard wanted it. Cruz will be VP as a sop to credulous conservatives. That is unless Trump can win it outright. And if he doesn’t get more focused, he will be beaten by the machine.

Trump would still win in a three way race.
Who in their right mind would vote for Mitt Romneycare just because he had the R jersey on?

All you Cruz bashers are just stupid. The ticket must be Trump Cruz. It is so DAMN clear! That assures the revolution, gives us both muscle with the people and constitutional resurgence. That is how it will play out. That is what the math tells us.

So the GOP is planning on drafting a KNOWN LOSER over candidates who are getting record numbers of people to the polls?

If they even consider this, they deserve to lose. I know I would never vote for a hand picked selection.

If they did that, it really *would* mean the end of the GOP.

then Trump will beat the GOP for the second time in a year.

Do you think Trump could pull of a third party victory?

I've thought about it and wonder if....I dunno.

Umm, no, the would rather like to keep congress and their full family employment in government and lobbyist positions. Losing the election means no worries of the voters defending themselves from Washington by ensuring the bodies of government are in separate hands.

The GOPe has no desire for a (R) of any stripe in the White House.

I think it’ll either be Trump winning outright, or Trump wins the plurality of delegates, Cruz is second, and Trump and Cruz together are well over 50%.

If it’s the latter, I expect Cruz to do the right thing and endorse Trump at the convention.
