"In no way, whatsoever, will Cruzers stand by and let the GOPe steal this nomination away from Trump in a Brokered Convention!"
Yeah we cannot ever put a red-state conservative on a ticket, because they won’t win liberal states.
Why don’t you just make Sanders the V.P. if you’re not interested in FIGHTING for conservative values? Then you can win a ton of blue states.
I also think that the only way for Cruz to get respect from Donald is to rack up as many states and delegates as possible. NC and many western states are still there.
Even NY state often has republican senate. And it aint from the upper west side..
The Dems can win only 4 or 5 states by a huge majority to get enough Electoral Votes to win the Presidency
?
Are you talking about CA.
Dont understand your point.
“Trump cant risk putting Cruz in as VP, the GOP would disqualify them or the Dems would sue. Maybe Ted should settle for SCOTUS, a lifetime appointment.”
A very good idea. He’s got the legal chops, and could probably have more power and bigger impact, historically. He’s young enough, and I would have a stroke if he turned out to be another Souter or You-know-who. Can’t imagine it.
Pick a VP that can diminish some of the Clinton’s votes. More votes swing to Trump instead of Clinton. He does pull from the Dems. Enough will make a huge difference.
At this point it's up to Cruz to make the move
We’ll see after March 15th
I think Cruz could serve his country best by working closely with Sessions and Giuliani. The new administratin is going to have a ton of work setting rght Obama’s malfeasance and then in (finally) enforcing our laws.
Cruz has a lot of legal administrative experience with the Texas attorney generals office. Sessions can steer the Senate and Rudy broke up the Mafia 5 families. If those three can’t do it, it can’t be done.
As John Nance Garner put it, “The vice-presidency isn’t worth a bucket of warm s***.”
Not really. It is Donald’s.
He has the edge right now.
If Ted said no, then Donald goes to Rubio.
but if ted asked and donald said no...
I was kind of surprised at some of the California delegation working so hard to ensure that they wouldn’t be tapped for a VP position by jumping on the back of the Romney trainwreck.
I don’t see any viable picks from California, and honestly, I don’t see much reason to make that pick. Whatever would put California in play would likely create a revolt in the already fractured GOP and a third party run by that bolting group (which of course would give the GOPe what they want - a Democrat in the White House and no risk to their entrenchment in congress.)
Cruz on the Court would be great.
Trump/Kasich?
Trump/Cruz is a growing possibility. I personally wouldn’t mind it. Might end up with Cruz in D.C. for 16 years that way.
I think we need people with military experience though. Allen West, or any of a couple of good Marine Generals I know of.
“I think Cruz could serve his country best by working closely with Sessions and Giuliani.”
True. I would love to see him bang heads with Roberts, though. I still consider him an excellent choice for the top job. Rubio fell off the short, small handed list...these are the only two left that are viable. Mittens can’t come back, that was just a pot stirrer, anyway, I believe. Trump would not accept anything but the WH, so....
This is certainly another fine mess the gope’s have gotten us into, Ollie. I think if Trump gets the nod, offering Cruz the SCOTUS opening could be a good thing. We’ve had some knives to the heart there for sure. Why God called Justice Scalia is beyond me. I fight every day with the image of the man being killed by some socialist flunky and pray that it was NOT that kind of end for this great man.
well put! Exactly!
If no candidate has the number needed to win why is there even a “first” vote. They know how it’s going to turn out.
I forgot about West. I sent him $100 to help fight for a recount but he never did.
Also notice the GOPe didn't come in to help. They wanted him out.
If you were not born in America, I am not voting for you.
Running Cruz as an unlawful candidate for Vice President with Trump for President will have the end result of forfeiting a substantial of votes in the General Election from conservatives who refuse to violate the Constitutional law that makes Cruz ineligible. Campaigning Cruz and Rubio is helping the Democrats and Hillary Clinton, and it also threatens the conservative influence at the U.S. Supreme Court for many years to come.
The DNC would play ads over and over again where Trump calls Cruz a liar and whatever insults Cruz hurled Trump’s way. The bridges have been burned in my opinion.
