DONALD J. TRUMP POSITION ON VISAS
www.donaldjtrump.com ^ | March 4,2016 | Donald J Trump

Posted on 03/03/2016 10:18:37 PM PST by GeaugaRepublican

"Megyn Kelly asked about highly-skilled immigration. The H-1B program is neither high-skilled nor immigration: these are temporary foreign workers, imported from abroad, for the explicit purpose of substituting for American workers at lower pay. I remain totally committed to eliminating rampant, widespread H-1B abuse and ending outrageous practices such as those that occurred at Disney in Florida when Americans were forced to train their foreign replacements. I will end forever the use of the H-1B as a cheap labor program, and institute an absolute requirement to hire American workers first for every visa and immigration program. No exceptions."

>>trump us a fraud
>>How otherwise intelligent people do not see that?

Most of us see it, but we also see that the rest of the field are frauds too. What we also see is that Senators make bad presidents and first term Senators shouldn’t even be in the game unless they have executive experience.

What we see in Trump is that he is an American and not a gimmick (historic “first” {insert victim group here} president). He also finishes things he starts. No Senator can make that claim in recent years, and especially first-termers who “worked hard, but failed because they don’t have the seniority”. Well, get some seniority and get back to us when you have some legislative wins under your belt.

There is no try, little Junior Senator. There is only do. They failed to do.

So are H-2Bs, and Trump loves those.

He didn’t say anything even resembling that last night. He said we need the H1B silicon valley has to have it there are not enough workers. Trump supporters can spin all they want and take “clarifications” from some ghost writers all they want. Trump is as in bed with foreign workers as anyone.

He also claimed he had to have his clothing line made off-shore because of currency manipulation. The only manipulation going on here is Trump manipulating his supporters.

The only person in last nights debate that even remotely acted presidential was Kasich. Rubio was terrible saying he wanted to talk policy then flinging pooh all over like a monkey at the zoo same as Trump. Cruz was only slightly better than those 2.

GW Bush respected the office of the presedent, trump respects nothing.

I like GW and voted for him twice. In the end, he was a disappointment because led us into a long and ultimately failed foreign policy of endless nation building and occupation. He did not fight back successfully against Democrats. He surrounded himself with people like Colin Powell (who supported Obama BTW). He chose John Roberts. Were we better off before his respect for the office or after it ? How many lives were squandered in his attempt to nation build in Mesopotamia ? Was the economy better or worse due to his extended nation building wars and inability to restrain spending and the growth of government ? He left us McCain and an Obama landslide.

Yeah he’s a different Republican candidate all right: a liberal.

He is to the right of almost any of the Republican candidates. He is the only Republican to put all the issue of illegal immigration back in the political debate, and he did it without asking me for money. He is a natural born American, which is a prerequisite for the Presidency in the Constitution.

Oh yeah. That myth. No one ever talked about illegal immigration and building a wall before the (D)onald.

Out of all the endorsements he has one Conservative. And given his positions even Sessions can’t make him Conservative by association.

Carter, Dole, Lott, Hatch, Christie, the liberal Chris Collins......

Sessions is a grain of sand in that liberal sea.

Try again.

Did anyone build it ... ? If he is elected President, and he doesn't build it, "you're fired."

Mr. “Everything’s Negotiable”

The height of the wall is negotiable. That he will build a wall is not negotiable. Either we have a border and laws or we don't have a country. Either one has to be a natural born American to be President or Obama is legitimate no matter where he was born.

H1Bs are negotiable. The Gang of Eight was negotiable.

He’ll never build your wall. Later, when he’s El Presidente, he’ll claim it was a “negotiating tactic” to secure some meaningless trade concession with Mexico so he can make his suits there even cheaper.

Sen. Cruz Presents Measure to Strengthen, Improve Legal Immigration
Offers amendment to increase H-1B visas to help improve, retain high-skilled labor force
May 14, 2013
|
press@cruz.senate.gov / (202) 228-7561

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) today presented an amendment to the Gang of Eight immigration bill that would improve our nation’s legal immigration system by increasing high-skilled temporary worker visas, called H-1B visas, by 500 percent. The measure would effectively address the needs of our nation’s high-skilled workforce by helping meet the growing demand for workers in the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields. It will also make block grants available to states to promote STEM education efforts and increase domestic STEM professionals. The committee voted against the amendment 4 to 14 with every Democrat voting against it on a party-line vote.

“I strongly support legal immigration. Legal immigration is a fundamental pillar of our nation’s heritage, and I was pleased today to offer legislation that would have improved and expanded legal immigration by dramatically increasing the cap for high-tech temporary worker visas. This amendment would not only improve the current system, but would also encourage economic growth and create new jobs in America. There is currently a serious shortage of workers in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math, yet every year we send thousands of high-tech graduate students back to their home countries to start businesses and create jobs. This makes no sense. I’m disappointed in the committee’s vote to reject expanding high-tech immigration. Although the Gang of Eight’s bill makes a modest step towards improving high-tech immigration, it does not go nearly far enough. There is no reason to arbitrarily cap high-tech visas at 110,000 when these jobs are going unfilled. We need economic growth here and now.”

Sen. Cruz’s amendment would:

Immediately increase the H-1B cap by 500 percent from 65,000 to 325,000.

To truly fix our broken immigration system and take into account our nation’s economic needs, we must put more emphasis on increasing employment-based immigration. There is a current shortage of qualified high-skilled workers in the U.S., with an estimated 230,000 advanced-degree STEM jobs going unfilled by 2018.
Additionally, more H-1B workers mean more jobs for American workers – according to a study by the American Enterprise Institute, for every additional 100 H-1B workers, 183 jobs are created for U.S. citizens.

Help retain the high-skilled workers that are trained in the U.S. by allowing “dual intent.”

This would allow foreign students at U.S. colleges and universities to enter the U.S. on a temporary H-1B visa if they intend to get a Green Card once they complete their studies.
Currently, about 300,000 students come to America annually to be educated, but are required to return home upon completing their education.

Create block grants for states to promote STEM education in their public schools by raising H-1B fees.

These block grants will encourage educating our children in these high demand fields, opening more doors of opportunity to future generations. According to the Joint Economic Committee, between 2010 and 2020, demand for STEM graduates is expected to grow by 17 percent, while employment for those graduates will increase only 14 percent, partly because American graduates are not available or qualified to fill these jobs.
The block grant program would be funded by raising H-1B fees from $750 to $1,250 for businesses with fewer than 25 employees, and from $1,500 to $2,500 for those with 25 or more employees.
