There’s nothing in there about covering pre-existing conditions. Just for the record. I can’t remember if Trump has been clear on his policy on pre-existing conditions. But judging by this, there won’t be any law forcing companies to cover them.

It is a tough issue, and I wish I had the answers...
I think these two parts of his plan would help the situation:
-
3- Allow individuals to fully deduct health insurance premium payments from their tax returns.
As we allow the free market to provide insurance coverage opportunities to companies and individuals, we must also make sure that no one slips through the cracks simply because they cannot afford insurance.
4- Allow individuals to use Health Savings Accounts (HSAs). Contributions into HSAs should be tax-free and should be allowed to accumulate.

I think they’ll be kept.
But its clear that keeping people from buying the health insurance they want when they want hasn’t lowered costs and has driven up premium prices.
What good is health insurance when you can’t afford it?

Last week it was the most important feature of his health care plan.
Someone must have told genius that it doesn't work without the mandate.

I’ve heard Trump say, like all politicians, demand pre-existing conditions be covered.
It’s an emotional issue played by liberals.
Can you get paid for a house fire or car wreck because you have a pre-existing house or car? No. That’s how stupid the argument is.
Tired of all the silly commercials on TV trying to get you to buy car, home, boat, etc. insurance? They don’t have to worry about pre-exisiting crap, state lines or Congress regulating the industry to death and the FREE market is wide open.
Why is health insurance so differnt? Socialism!

I suspect that the pre-existing conditions thing will be kept. Not because it’s a good thing, but because once Obamacare is dumped (Lord willing), pretty much every condition will be pre-existing because we’re starting afresh, and it would be a nightmare trying to get it sorted out otherwise.
But don’t quote me on that; that’s just my personal prediction.

You look for negatives in a bucket of positive. Trump has stated many times insurance companies can’t use pre-existing conditions to keep people from buying insurance.

I heard him on accounting for pre-existing conditions. Haven’t seen it in writing, though.

I cant remember if Trump has been clear on his policy on pre-existing conditions
He has stated previously, (and yes I realize he does not mention it in the basic outline on his page - but he correctly asserts all of it is job for the legislature) that the "mandate" he was referring to was the pre-existing conditions. The mandate that policies cover pre-existing conditions was one of the first and longest "talking points" about obamacare because, of course, they knew everyone would like that idea.
One of the most attractive ideas of Trumps plan is the tax free health savings plans that are family and not individual, and that they are inheritable and not subject to death taxes. Of course I already know that Trump wants to abolish the death tax.
