Donald Trump released his health care plan Wednesday evening, finally detailing the way in which he would fulfill his campaign trail promise to repeal and replace Obamacare.
In a seven-point plan posted to his website and publicized by a tweet, Trump says he will do away with the individual health insurance mandate, as well as allow competition over states lines for health care plans, and block grant Medicaid to the states, allowing them to follow through on his prescription to "eliminate fraud, waste and abuse to preserve our precious resources."
The decision to go against the idea of an individual mandate is new for Trump, who told CNN during a February town hall before the South Carolina primary that he "likes the mandate" and that makes him "a little bit different" than other conservatives.
But Wednesday's plan outlines as the first point on the list: "Our elected representatives must eliminate the individual mandate. No person should be required to buy insurance unless he or she wants to."
He counters that, however, by saying individuals should be allowed to "fully deduct health insurance premium payments from their tax returns."
The third bullet point goes on to say that "we must make sure no one slips through the cracks simply because they cannot afford insurance" and that "we must review basic options for Medicaid and work with states to ensure that those who want healthcare coverage can have it."
Further, Trump ties illegal immigration to his healthcare plan, writing "providing healthcare to illegal immigrants costs us some $11 billion annually ... If we were to simply enforce the current immigration laws and restrict the unbridled granting of visas to this country,

The only benefit so far is I was one of the uninsurable, now they have to cover me but I pay $880 per month for it. At least I have it and my medical expenses (pre-existing and high risk pregnancy) were more than my premiums last year.

Oh well...........There goes that post card tax return he promised. Back to social engineering via the tax code again. That didn’t last long?!>>>> first i heard dt say anything about a postcard. his tax plan is more like a reagan reduction than any overhaul. i would prefer a constitutional system minus 16th amendment and fed but that will never happen

The bullcrap. Don’t need to.

It is a tough issue, and I wish I had the answers...
I think these two parts of his plan would help the situation:
-
3- Allow individuals to fully deduct health insurance premium payments from their tax returns.
As we allow the free market to provide insurance coverage opportunities to companies and individuals, we must also make sure that no one slips through the cracks simply because they cannot afford insurance.
4- Allow individuals to use Health Savings Accounts (HSAs). Contributions into HSAs should be tax-free and should be allowed to accumulate.>>> i agree said something similar on an earlier post.

Both foam boy and lying Ted will say there’s no substance to the plan and he REALLY WANTS a mandate, and not to be fooled by this plan, and blah, blah, blah......and did you know that David Duke gave Trump this idea?

"The decision to go against the idea of an individual mandate is new for Trump, who told CNN during a February town hall before the South Carolina primary that he 'likes the mandate' and that makes him 'a little bit different' than other conservatives."
This is totally false. The media misinterpreted what Trump was saying when he obviously inadvertently used the wrong word, then immediately corrected himself. He was really talking about making sure that no American has to die (meaning anywhere - in the street, in their bed, in the train station, etc.) just because they cannot afford any kind of health insurance. (That is a very Christian attitude to take, as we know that what we do to the least of our brothers and sisters, we are also doing that to Jesus Christ, because He specifically told us that.)
Others later falsely tried to label that idea "single-payer" - it is not.
The press is doing the same kind of bold-face lying when they try to claim that Trump did not disavow the KKK/David Duke support. That claim by the mainstream media (and, sadly, some dishonest or woefully misinformed posters on this site) is totally false, and they should all be ashamed for pushing those lies.

I don’t think that ‘Trumpcare,’ as they called it, was ever really the plan in the first place. It was just rumored to be the plan because of some gotcha journalism, ill-chosen words, and a little bit of desperation from his foes.
However, I’m quite glad to see these details! Dunno how the tax credit thing will work, but can’t have everything at once, yeah?

Ted will say theres no substance to the plan and he REALLY WANTS a mandate,
The mandate is 100% tied to covering pre-existing conditions.

No...that’s from making sweetheart deals with lobbyists and special interest groups, simply to line the pockets of EVERY DC hack. Compliments of YOUR tax $.
Which other candidate, other than Trump, has even ran a business...a worldwide business, at that....and has come in under budget and ahead of schedule?
None...because the rest are ALL PAC paid, career politician/government employees, that have never owned a business or managed a payroll...yet, you’re willing to let them manage our economy? That’s what’s got us in to the mess we’re in, now.
