I'm listening to Rush, and he just mentioned his "Operation Chaos" in 2008.
Rush said that after McCain already had the nomination sewn up, the "Operation Chaos" plan was to have Republicans register as Democrats and vote for Hillary in the remaining Democrat primaries to keep Obama from winning the nomination.
My recollection is quite the opposite -- that "Operation Chaos" was about have Republicans vote for Obama in the Democrat primaries because there was no way Obama could win the general election.
Am I wrong? Am I mis-remembering, or is Rush re-writing history?
That’s EXACTLY what it was. Clinton was being coronated before the race began and Rush encouraged people to vote for Obama. Repeat: RUSH ENCOURAGED PEOPLE TO VOTE FOR OBAMA IN THE PRIMARIES.

We would have been much better off if Rush’s plan had ‘worked’ and HRC had gotten the nomination in 2008. Sad to think of, but reality has turned out much worse.
I thought it was for Hilary. But on the same subject, I sometimes wonder whether the Dems are doing Operation Chaos back at the Republicans, by giving Trump overwhelming numbers that won’t appear at the general. just a thot.
The strategy was to vote for whomever was behind in the delegate count to create chaos.
As of the PA primary, which is always late, 0bama was ahead. I voted for Hillary. That was the plan.

The goal was to extend the democrat primary season and keep Hillary and Barry at each other’s throat.
Operation Chaos was never about supporting any particular candidate. It was about registering as a Democrat once the Republican nominee was decided (which was fairly early) and then voting for whomever was behind.
The idea was to force Zero and Hillary!® to get nastier and nastier with each other, spend more money, and -- if possible -- drag out the fight all the way to the convention.
By the time most of us in late primaries could participate, that meant voting for Hillary!®. I did vote for her in the late PA primary. I've got the hat, too.

The Op was originally inspired because Democrats were doing just that in the early primaries: Hillary!® was the presumptive nominee, so they crossed over to vote for McCain at the expense of better candidates. I wouldn't doubt that they're doing it again. I'm also very suspicious of all the millennials, blacks, Latinos, and "blue collar Democrats" who'll be voting for Drumpf in the general. Despite the anecdotes, there is no polling data indicating they will. Get ready for 2008 all over again: by voting for the least conservative candidate in the primary race, we are once again insuring defeat in the general.
