There have been four closed elections: the Iowa caucus, the Nevada caucus, and Super Tuesdays Oklahoma primary and Alaska caucus. Ted Cruz won three of those four closed elections.
So heres where it potentially gets interesting. Although the media are looking forward to March 15, this Saturday (March 5) there are four Republican primaries/caucuses: Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana and Maine. All are closed.

Trump has less than 25% of the delegates needed for the nomination at this point.... that’s the nature of the early voting proportional voting.
“We should pander to the NE liberals some more like the GOPe does every year. Oh wait, thats why we have Trump.”
Yup, the last time we did that was with Romney. And that turned out so well.
This time instead of a weakling who wouldn’t fight for NE values, we get a strongman who will fight for making deals with Democrats. Remember, Ted Cruz is nasty, slimy and the biggest liar ever. It will be a nightmare.
Trump can direct the NYT to release the full un-edited tape.
So far he has neglected to do so.
Did you know that Planned Parenthood does good things?/s
Many people get a kick out of being able to say they backed the ‘winner’ in a given race, but its a short term game.
Well said, Cruz can’t win crossover vote and Trump can.
Rubio can’t win anything.
Bottom line is these next four states will demonstrate Trumps ability to hold the base. Something we have failed to notice this primary season is the reverse Limbaugh theorem shaping up.
Democrats already said they want to run against Trump while the DNC, Establishment and media are fueling the GOP gang war, distracting us from the real rat fear.
If Cruz wins more than half of the closed primaries, Trump is in trouble.
Reagan did too. Trump wouldn't have to go hard left. Center-left Democrats are crossing over, many of them can't stand Bernie or Hillary to begin with.
Obama has been destroying the work force and the middle class, which comprises of Democrats and Republicans.
According to progressives, Obama hasn't done enough.
“not a life long Democrat.”
Except Trump has been a registered Republican for decades.
You should stop lying.
Rubio is really obnoxious at this point, he points out that 60% of the votes last night didn’t go to Trump, but of course fails to mention that 85% didn’t vote for him.
I endorse TRUMP for President
Nail on head.
Trump has brought in so many new voters, and OK lets look at what has been going on.
Ted, can’t even win a single county in some southern states.
Third in a very important swing state VA.
Alaska by a few hundred which will go republican anyway, same as TX and OK.
He is behind in third in another swing state FL, my state and has not got a hope in hell of winning here.
That is two swing states he can’t win in a national, then add NV if you like.
He has not appealed to anyone outside his own base which is not enough to win the national election.
Like I said I going to vote for Ted, but after some of the things I have seen going on and how he can’t appeal or even win in certain places is not a plus , but a negative for me.
After that speech last night asking people to get out made me sick. All he talked abut was beating Trump and not Clinton , and now wants to cozy up to the establishment as if this is now personal to him, maybe his ego is too big from what I am seeing.
I have two weeks to decide but I ma leaning more and more to trump now.
A handful of Cruz voters on here are not helping him either with their persistent lies and negative articles form the establishment.
Tell me what he has done, not what the establishment is lying about.
No surprise that Dems are voting for Trump. But this will backfire on them. I think either Trump or Cruz will win easily over Clinton in the November election.
You are in Florida??? What does it look like there???
I think you must have missed the part where I tried to ell you that she has changed parties and is now a republican.
Having worked up there for some time and others from there will tell you . There are many people , blue collar workers who don’t usually vote , but since Trump they want to vote based on jobs and immigration.
“How does anyone know for a fact its Dems jumping ship”
No, they don’t. They want to think that. They search for any possible excuse that Americans see something in Trump that they don’t. They don’t want to believe they are the dummies.
Reagan would not have won without the Reagan Democrats.
Some of these dummies think they can belong to an exclusive club in small numbers yet win elections.
And he went on the media tour last night boasting about his win in MN and Fairfax County Virginia. And even said that Cruz and Trump underperformed. Really? What planet is he on?
As a Cruz supporter, I am perfectly fine with the idea that Liberal RINOs do not like us. In fact, I prefer it that way. It makes the idea of destroying them so much more enjoyable.
Why do they now get that.
It’s pretty obvious after last night that if one cannot even won a county in some southern states and can’t get 50% in your own state , and then came third in a swing state VA then it is not looking good.
When you see Trump he is raising the voter turnout and has won all these states, and the states he has not won he has come second.
There you go again. You have to prove based on the innuendo, supposition and wishful thinking you blithely assert as facts. I don’t have to prove the negative.
You’re just like Reid with Romney’s cheating taxes and Cruz and Rubio about Trump’s taxes.
As for the PP thing, a comment about anything good they do outside of abortions like counseling, referrals, etc. is just a clear statement of his support about abortions. I personally hate PP and if they’re stopped from doing abortions, that’s great. But to glom onto any rumor, sympathetic hatred, dirty tricks or whatever because your candidate is not doing well, that’s no reason to be as duplicitous as you are. You have no value to add to the discussion. Only venom.
I wonder if part of it is that he has a real eligibility problem being held over his head.
