A new CNN/ORC national poll (full pdf below) is being highlighted in the media discussion based on the top-line results: Donald Trump 49% !
However, that’s not the real headline in the data. The real lead story should be the damage Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz have done to themselves as they continue a scorched-earth campaign.
The first signals of a backlash appeared over the weekend’s polling when it became clear Senator Rubio and Senator Cruz where losing support at an exponential rate the longer they continued to make unfounded accusations. Donald Trump and Ben Carson are benefactors of the Rubio/Cruz kamikaze mission.

funny u brought that up, I went to Manhattan about 20 yrs ago to see some spots with the family. Taxis were cutting me off so fast left and right I promised I would never go back

Cruz was a fool period for attacking Trump at all. He could have been a VP or SCOTUS pick. Just like everyone else who attacked The Donald, their poll numbers plummet. Cruz may eke out a win in Texas tomorrow, but after that he is finished. Once the campaign moves North and West, Cruz will sink to third or fourth. He put all his chips on Iowa, the high water mark for his campaign.

Oh yea, driving there is something. I did it when I was in my early 20s...at that age you can adjust to it easier and that skill set will stay with you. I go back there and I drive like a total a-hole, which means no one gets surprised at what I’m doing.
