Scarborough: Trump Comments on David Duke, KKK 'Disqualifying'
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 02/29/2016 5:12:54 AM PST by governsleastgovernsbest

If Joe Scarborough were ever, as some have claimed, in the the tank for Donald Trump, he has officially climbed out as of this morning. On today's Morning Joe, reacting to the clip of Jake Tapper's interview, Scarborough called Trump's refusal to forthrightly reject the support of Klansman David Duke "disqualifying."

A bit later, Joe and Mika Brzezinski said that if Trump fails today to clean up the situation, Chris Christie "cannot stay with Donald Trump's campaign."

This is just B.S. Trump disavowed this days ago. Let it up. I’ll bet you that Dukes was paid by the Cruz or Rubio campaign. No way if he really wants to see Trump win that he’d insert himself like this.

Tapper didn’t mention the KKK, he mentioned “certain hate groups”. As far as David Duke, Trump said his ear piece was not working right and he didn’t hear the name. Go back and watch the clip. When he found out that Duke was saying nice things about him he said he didn’t need his endorsment. He said the exact same thing back in August.

Yes it is always been the policy of very shrewd politicians to say things that are mind bending the dumb to see how others deal with that right. In this case I must rise to Donalds defense a little bit he did rapidly dis disavowed David Duke once but then seems to forgotten it and decided to extemporize and say he needed to get more information which does not show a lot of sense really.

I agree with you. The Kool-Aid drinkers for Trump are CRAZY... they have absolutely drunk the poison and refuse to acknowledge he is in any way problematic.

By the looks of this thread, you've got it reversed.

You've been told that Trump said he didn't know who David Duke is and would look into it. Then, after he found out who David Duke is, he disavowed the (fake?) endorsement.

I think the anti-Trump posters want it to be a different way so you keep misrepresenting the facts.

Mr. Trump, But how can you say you don’t support the Klan when you have both have the same positions? It’s a tar pit and you know it.

So the better position is to pretend you don’t know who the Klan is?

That’s do stupid only a cultist could support it.

They were in Trump’s corner because he brought in ratings.

I’ll be surprised to see Trump on their show again after this.

What about all the times we had to be told that Ted Cruz was supposedly “brilliant”? This was before he was sworn in by Glenn Beck.

“They want him to dwell on it and make it a fundamental part of his campaign messaging and THAT is what they are pushing for sonthey can paint him as a racist”

Yes, they want to dwell on the Duke endorsement to paint him as a racist. Simple question, what would the press dwell on more, if he just repeats disavowing the endorsement or if he refuses to disavow because he doesnt know who david duke is or the Klan? Also remember he seemed to know who Duke was the day before. Amnesia?

Your guy Trumpy has to research and poll test david duke to decide if he wants duke’s support.... just own it. That’s who he is.

Trump was inartful, obviously. He could have said it better. He should have attacked Tapper for asking such an obviously loaded question.

BTW, I’m not a cultist. The only cultists here are those buying the phony piousness of Senator Cruzman Sachs.

“Trump is correct in not repeating his disavowing of David Duke. He owed a response, he gave it and once is enough.”

In that case the correct response is something like “Yes I disavow it, why do you keep asking me?”

The “Donald Trump is a racist” train is going nowhere. It’s not true despite the leftists jumping on the train. It’s not leaving the station because he’s not a racist.

Hahahahah. OK, so the guy who came up with a plan to beat the establishment candidates in early primaries and caucus and then executed it is stupid? Ok
