If Joe Scarborough were ever, as some have claimed, in the the tank for Donald Trump, he has officially climbed out as of this morning. On today's Morning Joe, reacting to the clip of Jake Tapper's interview, Scarborough called Trump's refusal to forthrightly reject the support of Klansman David Duke "disqualifying."
A bit later, Joe and Mika Brzezinski said that if Trump fails today to clean up the situation, Chris Christie "cannot stay with Donald Trump's campaign."

No that would have been the smart answer. Denouncing the Klan is not a matter of being politically correct or politically incorrect. It’s a matter of common sense and intelligence. Does Trump have either?
Next question would have to Trump: But you both support the same positions, yadda, yadda. This was a hit job. No win situation for Trump.
No, Scumbarough, however being associated with the Black Panthers should have been a disqualifier, being associated with a man who plotted the murder of police officers should have been a disqualifier...
The truth is he has to figure out how much of the south he would be alienating by saying he doesn't accept the klan's support. That's the the bottom line.
Scarborough is the biggest candy ass in broadcasting. He caves to the “I have Trump” cartel who blasted him a few days ago for being too nice to Trump. He goes full circle on Trump and now calls him a racist and bigot and wants him out of the race. I want that dopey looking leftist creep off TV. Sold his soul for job and now badmouths republicans.
Maybe he has to praise the good work they do, like he does with Planned Parenthood.
Good question...the best evidence I could find is a Politico story here that references something Duke said on a radio program, but even that is weak tea.
It’s only a no win if you think you’re going to lose the south by disavowing the ku klux klan.
tagline
For the third time just form me and for the about 7th time to you.
He has DISAVOWED them days before.
Yep. Feigned ignorance just proves the point this is just a hit job on Trump.
Probably...
Smart, yes; IMO it also would have been PC.
Er, he “cleaned it up” years ago. Look at the record.
Trump does not like to be dictated to by so-called “jounrnalists.” And, he certainly doesn’t need Smoky Joe’s “support,” which, like all so-called “journalists,” blows with the wind.
By the way, Trump is now claiming he had a bad earpiece and didn’t understand the question. What a joke he is.
Has Ted denied he is the Zodiac yet? Even once?
OK, so I guess all us Trumpbots should immediately switch our vote to YOUR candidate, right?
No matter how many times you are asked, you should say “no, I don’t support the Klan.”
Not, “i’m not sure of these groups, I don’t know who they are, send me a list so I can do some research.”
And that joke destroyed your candidate.
He is so fake. Everyone here thinks he is strong and a leader and says what is on his mind. The con man has to research to see if he can disavow the ku klux klan or not..... The goofball has to figure out how many votes he may lose if he goes against the klan...
I’ve said that it’s telling that so many of his supporters like to use the phrase, “You know Trump is not a stupid man.” Why do they feel this great need to reassure us of this? Also, there are the other ones who when he does something outrageous say things like, “Trump is thinking way ahead of everyone else on this.” It’s as if his bad behavior and ignorant statements can be easily accepted because mere plebians could never understand the esoteric world of Donald Trump’s brain.
You should drink diet coke for a while instead of the Kool-Aid.
