When Justice Antonin Scalia died 11 days ago at a West Texas ranch, he was among high-ranking members of an exclusive fraternity for hunters called the International Order of St. Hubertus, an Austrian society that dates back to the 1600s.
After Scalia's death Feb. 13, the names of the 35 other guests at the remote resort, along with details about Scalia's connection to the hunters, have remained largely unknown. A review of public records shows that some of the men who were with Scalia at the ranch are connected through the International Order of St. Hubertus, whose members gathered at least once before at the same ranch for a celebratory weekend.
Members of the worldwide, male-only society wear dark green robes emblazoned with a large cross and the motto "Deum Diligite Animalia Diligentes," which means "Honoring God by honoring His creatures," according to the group's website. Some hold titles, such as Grand Master, Prior and Knight Grand Officer. The Order's name is in honor of Hubert, the patron saint of hunters and fishermen. ...
Cibolo Creek Ranch owner John Poindexter and C. Allen Foster, a prominent Washington attorney who traveled to the ranch with Scalia by private plane, hold leadership positions within the Order. It is unclear what, if any, official association Scalia had with the group. ... The society's U.S. chapter launched in 1966 at the famous Bohemian Club in San Francisco, which is associated with the all-male Bohemian Grove - one of the most notorious secret societies in the country.

Was Justice Scalia truly a member of this club?
Basing on what was reported at the time, Justice Scalia was invited to that ranch and his trip was paid for by someone. Then there’s the issue with his son not going with him at the last minute. So If Justice Scalia was part of this secret club, why was his son to be with him?
There’s plenty of sick stuff out there on the Bohemian Grove, but you can read Reagan’s letters about it and they were very innocent. He just liked to get away.
So I’m thinking that if you have a secret society with different groups within it, you may have some perverted groups form. These men were wealthy and if you found like minded individuals you could start your own groups within a group.
So who knows what type of group, Scalia was with. Could there have been a secret group within the group. I know there are two video tapes where Obama cracks up laughing whenever he talks about naming a new SC Justice.
I think Scalia’s death should have been properly investigated. Supposedly, Scalia had never been to this resort before. What about the other 35? Is this where they met yearly? Once a month? etc. Was there a medic at the resort? Where did they take you if you were hurt on the hunt? Who in the FBI declined to investigate? Did they call the Governor of Texas?
He was an old man, but he was very important to the country and it is not beyond possibility that someone decided they wanted a new Justice this year.
Actually, it doesn’t sound like he was a member. Supposedly, it was his first time at the resort. Poindexter was a member who paid the expenses of 35 people of this hunting party.

Successful Madrid Investiture

The December 9th to 15th Madrid Investiture was a resounding success with attendance from the United States, Spain, Mexico, Portugal, Luxembourg, Hungary and Rumania. All nations except Rumania, which is considering the establishment of a chapter, knighted OBs and are vibrant and growing.
Among many other wonderful activities the Ordensbrothers were invited to the Valdepalacios estate where they were the guests of the Marques del Castillo, a Spanish OB. The group had two days of red legged partridge shooting, which were numerous and difficult, and an exceptional menu of food and wine at this Relais and Chateau Resort. A third day was spent at La Aliseda, a nearby estate where the group shot pheasants. The Ordensbrothers enjoyed beautiful surroundings, hospitality and camaraderie.
Next there was a massive red legged partridge shoot at the estate of Alfonso Fabre, another member of the Spanish Chapter. This was the 1,848 bird day featuring 16 Americans and Jose Castello y Saenes from Mexico. From flamenco dancers to delicious Spanish countryside dining, outstanding field arrangements and extremely challenging bird presentation, the experience at the Fabre estate was exceptional.
The US contingent amounted to 25 squires and Ordensbrothers from every US Priory, about 10% of our entire National Chapter, which is an astonishing result given geographic distance. Seven of our squires were knighted, placing us behind Spain’s 15 but ahead of the other nations. Both Grand Master Istvan and Grand Master Emeritus Andreas were present. The dual-language investiture ceremony, in the magnificent sixteenth century Royal Chapel of the Escorial Palace, was very moving.
The final dinner on Saturday night, at the elaborate, baroque Casino de Madrid (now a private club), was attended by almost 200. After a long cocktail reception and an exceptional meal, both Archdukes spoke on the past and the future of the Order. We learned during cocktails that, besides Romania, new chapters are anticipated for Slovakia and Belgium and later for France. The Order presented the Medal of St. Hubertus to the Marques del Vado (the Grand Prior of Spain) and to Jesus Martin, Vice-Chancellor, who played such an important part in organizing and hosting the Investiture.

My Father was a Member of the Eagles Lodge and the Elks Lodge. He is also Italian, though the only Justice he ever dispensed was on my Brother and I.
