Breaking— CRUZ CAMPAIGN STAFFER SAYS CAMPAIGN IS DONE —
A Ted Cruz campaign staffer today told CNN the campaign is done. “His Campaign is done.”
“The Cruz campaign has to focus on getting basic campaign techniques right,” said a Republican operative who works for the presidential campaign, who asked not to be identified. “I don’t think Cruz can win the nomination at this point. I think his campaign is done.”
Cruz took a huge blow on Saturday after he could not win a single county in South Carolina, a state with an enormous evangelical vote.

I have no doubt that Trump did win the "liberal" evangelical vote, and yes, there really are liberal evangelicals. Not nearly so many as the conservative ones, but they are out there. The Cruz spokesman is whistling past the graveyard on this.
Trump is slowly creating a preference cascade among evangelicals, and as I have stated before, it's likely because they would rather win, then remain consistent to their ideology.
Trump's rhetoric also makes them feel like they are getting enough of a good deal so that they can afford to overlook potentially bad aspects of a Trump Presidency.
In terms of Priority, Trump is speaking what the people want to hear. Build a border wall. Stop Muslim Immigration. Fix finances. Get America Working.
These are things people want most, and to get them, they will overlook the possibility he will appoint Liberal Judges like his sister to the Federal Bench.
If I weren't worried about his Judicial Appointments, I too would be a Trump supporter.
Okay then tell me who has Trump attacked without any provocation? Since you are implying it’s not true, then this should be easy.
You Cruzbots are pathetic and not influencing anyone or winning them over.
To bring up Carson of all people. The one who Cruz seriously screwed over in Iowa.
The last time I checked Carson liked Trump compared to Cruz. Trump came to Carson’s defense unlike Cruz that used dirt tricks against him.
What you are taking about is a debate question that was asked directly to Trump. Trump just said what a lot of people were asking at the time.
You Cruzbots are always wreckless lashing out at everyone without ever thinking more than one step ahead at a time.
Liberal evangelical is an oxymoron.
He did, he called Rubio out on his promoting Reid's amnesty bill and Rubio said that it was a lie, and when Trump was asked about it he agreed with Rubio, that Cruz was lying.
Clearly Trump's strategy is to smear and destroy Cruz first, even when it means defending Rubio like this, then go after Rubio last.
When the time comes Trump will flip for the ...0000..... time and attack Rubio on his amnesty bill. The way things are going it will probably work for him again, in this primary.
His “The Joker high on acid” style attacks on Cruz have been just appalling. If his hope is to have the support of Cruz backers one on one with Rubs......speaking for myself, not mine, Donnie.
So you might think would be Liberal Jews supporting policies which help Islamic Terrorists, but there it is.
Evangelicals went for Trump in NH, SC, and NV. Those that identify as conservative also went with Trump. In SC those that identify as very conservative also went with Trump. When Cruz’s base of support abandons him he’s done. I suspect before the week’s out Cruz and Rubio (both part of the establishment) will team up to try and defeat Trump. It’s the only prayer the GOP has from keeping Trump from the nomination. If not this week, then definitely after Super Tuesday. If Cruz carries any state it’ll be Texas, and Trump will carry the rest and still have a huge lead on him so panic will set in and cut the deal with Rubio will be made, probably to be his VP pick.
Thank you for your kind words. I am glad to know that I am pathetic. You are following right in the path of your Great Leader.
Please do not drive or operate heavy machinery!
After last night I would say its definitely over.
Early on last night Trump tried to get Rubio to join him again in going after Cruz(as with the prior debate, two against one) , but Rubio had obviously decided he was gunning for Trump all night.
On Trump's favorite show, MSNBC Morning Joe his friends were pointing out how it took 11 debates before two would gang up on Trump.
That he was given a pass up till now.
Rush will tell you what to think, this morning.
He is on in the afternoon here. He seems to like most candidates.
I rarely catch him but I usually catch Levin's first half hour on the road.
He is making a strong case against Trump.
Maybe because he worked for Reagan.
