Breaking— CRUZ CAMPAIGN STAFFER SAYS CAMPAIGN IS DONE —
A Ted Cruz campaign staffer today told CNN the campaign is done. “His Campaign is done.”
“The Cruz campaign has to focus on getting basic campaign techniques right,” said a Republican operative who works for the presidential campaign, who asked not to be identified. “I don’t think Cruz can win the nomination at this point. I think his campaign is done.”
Cruz took a huge blow on Saturday after he could not win a single county in South Carolina, a state with an enormous evangelical vote.

It’s called being a leader, the alpha dog. SC likes leaders, not wimps.
We will know on Super Tuesday if Cruz is done. I think he is but the fat lady is not singing yet.
South Carolina was one of those states with a lot of conservative voters who remained registered Democrats -- a lot of them more conservative in their way than the average Republican.
I don't know if that's still the case, but saying that Democrats voted for Donald Trump in South Carolina, isn't like saying that Democrats voted for him in New Hampshire or Iowa, Massachusetts or Oregon.
It's saying that a lot of people who vote Republican in the general election (or tend to vote that way) went with Trump, not that liberal dilettantes or saboteurs flocked to him for trivial or tactical reasons.
If Cruz has a positive message that he wants people to hear and isn't just running down other candidates he should stay in the race ( ... that's quite an "if", though).
No amount of evangelicals in SC would have helped Cruz. Cruz lost that group.
Cruz won 18-29 year olds and Very Conservatives.
EXXXACTLTY.
That is exactly what I believe, kabar, is very possible. Someone exotic.
With TRUMP, I am braced for anyone, in whom he admires competence, intelligence, with a string of successful experiences in some given field important for America’s welfare.
Please dont hesitate to ping me. Its an interesting topic.
I appreciate the cordial discussion.
If you are saying that Cruz lost to Trump because Cruz ran an unfair campaign, then the people of SC don't agree with you.
The exit poll shows that 39% of the SC primary voters thought that Trump ran the most unfair campaign compared to 33% for Cruz.
“I said New Hampshire was Liberal”
Maybe you think you did, I don’t see any states specified.
You said. “in a Liberal or Open Primary state”
A state could be one or the other, and I’m guessing if Cruz loses in it, it might be both as far as you’re concerned.
Someone earlier told me that South Carolina does not register voters by party. If this is true, there will be no "hard data" forthcoming. I find that as much a pity as I do incredible.
I appreciate the cordial discussion.
We are all allies here. I think we mostly share the same goals, we just sometimes don't always agree on the best method for obtaining them.
I will support the nominee if it is Cruz or if it is Trump. I will urge others to do the same. And thank you for your cordiality.
“Looks like Sen. Cruz will end up becoming Donald Trumpâs VP choice.”.
No way in the world. Too much bad blood between them and Cruz brings nothing to the table. I think Trump will pick an hispanic female governor, maybe Susana Martinez from NY. He needs someone who can speak fluent Spanish and that ain’t Cruz. He knews a few words, but can’t give a speech in Spanish. He’s admitted his Spanish is limited.
I personally think Cruz will get out after Super Tuesday and endorse Rubio. I think Rubio will promise him the AG job and he’ll jump at it. It’ll confirm my contention that Cruz is an insider and always has been. He was a high level lawyer that worked in the GW Bush administration. His primary work for him? Drafting amnesty legislation.
I had specified Liberal New Hampshire in an earlier message.
A state could be one or the other, and I'm guessing if Cruz loses in it, it might be both as far as you're concerned.
I expected Cruz to lose in Liberal New Hampshire. I expected him to Win in South Carolina until I found out it was an open primary state. I still expected him to win, but I said last week that if he doesn't, it will most likely be due to the fact that South Carolina has an open primary.
Allowing Democrats and Independents to vote for Republican Candidates can only dilute the party's preference.
This is comical. Teddy’s campaign isn’t dead. It’s merely pining for the fjords.
You Go Teddy! You be sure to spend that campaign stash just like Jeb? You know that you’re just one primary away from winning the whole thing. President Cruz? You bet. But be sure to spend all that Other People’s Money. You won’t need it in 2018. Nosiree.
Will Texans remember in 2018 that their sitting Senator didn't bother to tell them in 2012 that he was Canadian?
Bingo
NO worries, thanks for the reply!
No sweat, thanks FRiend.
