Rick Tyler, the Senior Communications Advisor for Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), issued a public apology after spreading a false story reporting that Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) made a nasty comment to a Cruz staffer about the Bible.
"I want to apologize to Senator Marco Rubio for posting an inaccurate story about him here earlier today," Tyler wrote on Facebook after sharing the false story online. "The story misquoted a remark the Senator made to the staffer. I assumed wrongly that the story was correct."
The false report indicated that Rubio said that there were "not many answers" in the Bible -- when in fact, Rubio commented that "all the answers" were in the book of scripture.
Tyler indicated that he communicated with the Cruz staffer in the video, who explained that Rubio had made a "friendly and appropriate remark" about the Bible.
"Since the audio was unclear, I should not have assumed the story was correct," Tyler wrote. "I've deleted the post because I would not knowingly post a false story. But the fact remains that I did post it when I should have checked its accuracy first. I regret the mistake."

So far not a single Cruz supporter has taken the challenge. They run around insisting on how honest he is. So I say, if I can prove he lied, will you promise in advance to type and post, “I acknowledge that Ted Cruz is a liar.”?

You’re easy, Trump is Trump, anything is expected and most forgiven for the greater good, Cruz’s political persona is marketed as Christian in character, all tall order to live up to in a political campaign.

They don’t like my challenge at all. Of course, even after I posted the irrefutable lie, there is no Cruz supporter on the site who would actually post, “I acknowledge Ted Cruz is a liar.” Still, their reaction proves that on some level they know he lies. They’re just very hostile towards admitting it.
Now, THAT'S classy.
Not true at all. You just try to run a campaign in all 50 states in the age of the internet when false stories and mantras are too numerous to track.
What Cruz supporters have to focus upon is the steady courageous and Constitutional record of our candidate that none of the others have, not by a long shot.
I believe Cruz is highly competent, brilliant even. I think the driving force within him is only the good he can do for the country.
I do believe, based on some of his choices of those around him (like Glenn Beck and those who have immersed him in several imbroglios to which he is forced to do the right thing and apologize) is not good ‘radar’ in terms of judging allies and colleagues. He HAS to get better at this or manage his underlings and supporters better if he wants to beat Rubio (first) and then Trump (if that’s possible).

Well, if that’s true, then Cruz is gone for me - another demagogue. Forgeddabouddit.
Maybe if Trump somehow made him his VP and took Cruz to the woodshed a few times to straighten that boy out - maybe after Trump whooped him into shape, Cruz might be presidential material.
But maybe there’s an irreversible virus that infects career politicians so that one way or the other the only thing that matters is their political future. Maybe it’s not a virus, maybe it simply God-given self-interest that has mutated into seeking political gain because politics has become that person’ career. Maybe that’s the reason for having term limits because of the inevitable corruption of career politicians. Dang man, we need to get some bug spray and spray all of DC and get a whole bunch of non-politicians in there.
