Rick Tyler, the Senior Communications Advisor for Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), issued a public apology after spreading a false story reporting that Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) made a nasty comment to a Cruz staffer about the Bible.
"I want to apologize to Senator Marco Rubio for posting an inaccurate story about him here earlier today," Tyler wrote on Facebook after sharing the false story online. "The story misquoted a remark the Senator made to the staffer. I assumed wrongly that the story was correct."
The false report indicated that Rubio said that there were "not many answers" in the Bible -- when in fact, Rubio commented that "all the answers" were in the book of scripture.
Tyler indicated that he communicated with the Cruz staffer in the video, who explained that Rubio had made a "friendly and appropriate remark" about the Bible.
"Since the audio was unclear, I should not have assumed the story was correct," Tyler wrote. "I've deleted the post because I would not knowingly post a false story. But the fact remains that I did post it when I should have checked its accuracy first. I regret the mistake."

In this case, the “lie” evidently originated in a captioned video that appears to have been taken and captioned by a journalism student “Video Producer”:

And Mr. Video Producer has some explaining to do if he doesn’t want this albatross permanently GOOGLed around his aspiring journalistic neck.
Like I said...Brietbart is campaigning hard for Trump. Brietbart would never report something like this. Instead, it's Cruz bashing 24/7.
Watch for the Brietbart posts. If Cruz sneezes, Brietbart would report Cruz deliberately tried to infect innocent woman and children with what could have been a deadly virus.

Yup. We’ll never get anywhere eating our own. The Dems, who don’t have strong candidates, may very easily win just by sitting back and watching our candidates destroy each other. As a freeper suggested, maybe we should now be determining and announcing who we do support. Nobody is perfect, but looking at a view to win, which must be the strongest criteria this election, I could support Trump or Cruz. Both of whom will be taking ever stronger hits hereafter by the opposition who will try to swing us to Rubio, whom I distrust.
I think it had less to do with open primaries than it does with the creepy tone given off by Glenn Beck. Beck was saying that Cruz was sent by God to guide us thru the Rapture, and Scalia’s death was part of God’s plan to get people to vote for Cruz. Even the Duck Dynasty guy got into the act saying that STD’s was a punishment from God. That’s the kind of stuff you hear coming from someone holed-up in a compound with a stockpile of Kool-Aid. I’m betting that turned off a lot of people.
The campaign is just beginning. Sheesh. Bill Clinton lost EVERYTHING up until March 1st in Georgia. He still went on to win the election. That's how he got the nickname "The Come Back kid. "
So far, it's Trump 2 and Cruz 1. That's pretty close don't you think? There's still 47 states left to go.
Remember - As the other candidates drop out, the votes will be split less and less. Those votes will be going to someone. They could have already went to Trump, but 2 out of 3 voters didn't want Trump. If that pattern holds, Trump loses.
It's a "Counting your chickens before they hatch" thing.
I have a close friend whose company has been producing ads for different Republican candidates and he says a lot of people on the inside are talking about what a dirty campaign Cruz is running. Not a good reflection on him as a candidate.
My family worked on Romney campaign, which by extension, Heller. Very disappointed by Heller right now.
I think this shows that Cruz has puppet strings attached to him just like all politicians. He doesn’t hire and fire. He does what he’s told.
This is what a Cruz presidency would have looked like. Either he is an incompetent leader or a liar, or both. Good news is we won’t have to hold our noses and vote for him to prevent a Dem from becoming the next president.
It leaves me wondering WHY Marco Rubio would say anything at all to a Cruz staffer.
In the posted article Ted is apologizing for the lies told by his lying dishonest campaign, now you somehow are willfully ignorant of the fact that a liar lies.
Rubio is the darling of Fox and GOPe. Revealing who supports him.
Did you notice that the campaign apology came after the votes were in. Just like the Carson apology.... Cruz's campaign slimes, weasels and corkscrews the process and then apologizes afterward.
Many of us saw the guy for who he was right away. But Cruz fans think that ole Cruz sweats 'holy water' and burps 'communion wafers'.
His campaign is run by amateur megyn kelly-types. “Look what we did! hahahah...snicker.” Kiddy stuff moves.
It started with his logo—it’s pretty durn close to the Arabic flame-thing-symbol for allah.
What’s his slogan? Anyone know? Nope.
What’s Trump’s slogan? Yup, we all know.
Amateur hour and maroons running the show. Like that idiot King.
