CHARLESTON, S.C.
Things sure look good for Donald Trump.
The Republican presidential race expanded across the country Sunday, and polls show the real estate mogul ahead in eight of the dozen states voting in the next nine days.
Trump has now won primaries in two very different states, center-right New Hampshire and evangelical-dominated South Carolina. And the Republican Party system of choosing a presidential nominee favors candidates who continue to win early primaries and caucuses.
âHe seems to have about a third of the Republican electorate under his spell, and itâs a durable, non-ideological coalition,â said Kyle Kondik, managing editor at Larry Sabatoâs Crystal Ball Sunday.
The biggest hope for stopping Trump is for a single strong challenger to emerge, and so far that hasnât happened.
Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., finished second Saturday in South Carolina, but he was 10 percentage points behind Trump and barely edged Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, even though Rubio barnstormed the state with popular Gov. Nikki Haley and Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C.
Rubio also lacks an obvious state where he can win in the next few weeks. He should be a favorite in Tuesdayâs Nevada caucus. Rubio lived in Las Vegas as a child, was a church member, and Sunday picked up the endorsement of Sen. Dean Heller, R-Nevada. But a CNN/ORC poll last week showed Trump with a huge lead, with more support than Rubio and Cruz combined.

I just thought it was funny that the poster thought evangelicals would vote for Trump because they don't like adulterers. As I said, some will not see.
Congratulations to your candidate and good luck going forward.
I don’t know what that statement has to do with anything I’ve written.
Trump deprived Ted of winning any South Carolina county win with 5 paid staff and a two million dollar budgetYep, Ted got bitch slapped in New Hampshire and schlonged in South Carolina...BIGLY
“Things sure look good for Donald Trump.”
I sure hope so. However we all know the GOP elite are laying land mines all along his path to victory.
There ought to be a pool to see who will be the first to kiss his ring.
My guess? Two slimeballs:
Sanford was claiming to be mr clean at the time. That is the difference.
Sounds like a pretty good endorsement to me, lol.
Trump morality, I get it.
What happeneds if they manage to trump trump? The people are going to go ape sh##
I don’t see that happening...
Personally, I will take Trump 1st, then Cruz 2nd...
Either of them for me...
Thank you.
In all seriousness, all of us want essentially the same thing for America.
Two years from now I sincerely believe that all of us will cheering President Trump on. Some loudly, some quietly, but we all will be behind him, because he's going to deliver what he's selling.
“So you’re OK with somebody cheating on their spouse as long as they don’t say the don’t cheat on their spouse.”
I would just say that if everybody who cheated on there spouse (or wanted to) voted for any candidate, that person would win big time...
What I’ve seen in lif is that one person’s indiscretions are pretty much the same as everybody else’s.
Would be interesting to find out how many Republican Congressmen and Senators cheat on their spouses. Chances are, we'll never know. But I assume ignorance is bliss, eh? The Potemkin Village is what's most important in today's political world.
Trump was a regular person. His cheating WA wrong because it was cheating. Sanford was wrong for the same reason and he was additionally a hypocritical public figure for having run as mr clean. Glad to help any way I can, dead.
See #37
Yeah, they'll jam Rubio down our throats until the bitter end. It'll be ridiculous.
Interestingly enough, by bending their knees to Trump, they'll wind up following a course much closer to the ideals their party espouses.
Sad that they'll only do it as worthless toads and sheeple, but what the hey - it's better than them following the current occupant down the Socialist path.
