What sticks in my craw is Cruz’s failure to have a federal court decide the genuine dispute about his eligibility as an NBC. Failure to do so shows me his willingness to gamble with the future of America for his political future.

And, for the record, I said back in July or August that Trump would be the nominee.

Why would Trump pick that “nasty lying guy” for anything? Why would Cruz accept? Of course that is a hypothetical since there is no guarantee Trump wins the nomination, that he doesn’t go third party if he doesn’t, and that he wins the election against whichever socialist runs.

Ole Boots 'n Belly couldn't crack 30% in IA and right now he is stitched to the side of Marco 'the house Cuban' Rubio, and both look like they are barely cracking over 20% in SC.
Cruz has hired the best dirty tricksters in the business. They no doubt told him to accuse others of slinging mud and claim that he does not do this. It is right out of the Alinski / Democrat playbook. This is one of the things that makes me nervous about supporting him. He talks like a conservative, but acts like a Democrat.
Glad to know I am not the only one betraying his class and voting contrary to the dictates of Sir Karl.

I hope so too. I think with Trump WYSIWYG. Some of his positions are not mine but I believe he has the best chance of making some inroads on business as usual in Government, repealing or dismantling Ocare, the wall, fixing the VA and restoring the military. If he does those things and gets jobs going, revamps the tax code and starts to return power to the States (repeal Common Core) & to the people I will be overjoyed. I can put up with some schmoozing and giving the Dems some personal crumbs to get the legislature the country needs.
I am a practical person and I value his pragmatism, track record and experience in the private sector. I’ve had it with politicians, smooth words, and excuses.
I want to be very decent tonight to all fellow FReepers. But how could Cruz say he didn’t sling mud, when he did, he did say certain things about Trump that were patently false. I heard him say them and I knew that was a really obvious twist and out of context take on something Trump said, and Cruz is smart. He knew what he was doing. And he could have left out the part about himself not slinging mud from his election night speech with no loss. But he dared say it, which I find not honest.
I’m sure some people like his granny “bless his heart†eyebrows up, preacher style speeches. But at least be honest in them.
Senator, you are being called out daily on one thing: honesty. You’re a good Christian. Please pray about this. Maybe there is something to this critique, and you could begin to make an extra effort to be honest in your campaigning. It would NOT hurt you.
Well said. Cruzers are having some amnesia tonight. I remember the Trump-Cruz break up well.
It went like this:
1)Trump hit Cruz on the natural born citizen issue. Like it or not that is a campaign issue.
2)Cruz responded by throwing the kitchen sink of smears at Trump: NY Values, abortion, throw granny under the bulldzoer, etc.
3)Trump responded to those Cruz attacks with both barrels.
Seems Cruzers can dish it out but not take it. Cruz never was going to beat Hillary with that attitude, IMO.

It's funny how you first denied Trump said what he said, then try to justify him saying it by making up something about Ben Carson that isn't true.
SC was Ted’s signature loss. 79% evangelical vote and Cruz finished 3rd.
