Ben Carson wrote in his book that he has a pathological mental illness.

Ben Carson did no such thing. You made it up. Carson said he had a pathological temper. But nowhere did he say he had a mental illness.

It's funny how you first denied Trump said what he said, then try to justify him saying it by making up something about Ben Carson that isn't true.

Carson will be dropping out soon, what difference does it make?

Trump didn’t make anything up. He reacted to some things in Ben Carson’s book that perhaps shouldn’t have been written that way. Dr Carson is a physician, when he says pathologic temper it means something specific and frankly dangerous. That is what Trump was getting at. To use that word about yourself is strange because its a serious accusation. What other things get called pathological? Trump gave examples. He discussed why he thought the violent stabbings and attack on Mom didn’t happen the way they were described. The whole topic is distasteful but Carson is the one that brought it to the table.

Trump never hesitates to call things as he sees them even though sometimes it means he gets muddied as he did here. I am impressed with Dr Carson in many ways but like all of us he is a mixed bag and some of his positions are odd.

Turns out we both had the quote wrong. Carson didn’t say he had a’pathological temper’, and he didn’t say he had a ‘pathological illness’ either. I just looked it up. Carson said he has a “pathological disease.” In context, it is mental/psychological, not physical.

So my question is this: how would you describe/define a ‘pathological mental disease’ to a large audience, many of whom may not understand the terms?
