Donald Trump Urges Boycott of Apple Until Apple Gives Gov SB Terrorist Info

One of the things here I've noticed is that there's a debate going on about this topic. Donald Trump is right and I've said it, but come under fire. See the tweet below:

Boycott all Apple products until such time as Apple gives cellphone info to authorities regarding radical Islamic terrorist couple from Cal— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 19, 2016

It would be one thing to talk about doing this to people who are alive. But the Radical Islamic Terrorists who carried out San Bernadino are dead. I don't care about their civil liberties. Keep America safe, which will help make it great again.

All: every local boss hog wants to know all about you, your money and your other properties. Guess who can get the information for him in return for his money and/or his political influence.

They know who he called already from the data the telco holds. They know who he emailed, the know who he texted if he used the older SMS texts.

All they want is Apple to degrade their products in the future. Apple cannot be created this current phone under its current hardware software architecture it’s a black box. They designed it that way. Eeryone get a clue.

One of the big draws of Apple in America and overseas is information security and privacy. Something every human deserves. We are innocent until proven guilty. Big government can stay the hell out of my hardware and software. If this Big Brother crap keeps up I’m gonna turn into a Luddite forswear technology and get my privacy back.

And for any other dumb “law and order” Freepers out there who trust the government I just want let you know that already plotting to take away cash so they can track your every transaction and movement. Of course the lie peddled is that it will be used to track terrorism financing and cartel money but 99.99% of the people they go after with the information will be you and me and your neighbors. The only purpose of the cash a society is to enslave Americans. Do you think that would stop the Saudi’s from shipping gold or fake credit cards? No it will not stop any state actors or groups of any kind of sophistication. It’s a weapon pointed at you and me.

Imagine if the government or the politically connected had access to each and every cash transaction YOU ever made. What is to stop them from selling it or sharing it with health insurance companies so they can jack up your rates. Buy too manyTwinkies, pay higher healthy insurance rates. How are the dirty old dog Freepers going explain to their wives about all of those $1, $10, and $20 card charges at the strip club? How many IRS audits do you think will be drivenby that kind of data?

This government is out-of-control and I’m getting sick of it. I am a free man, not an economic unit or livestock.

It’s like forcing every American to give the government a key to their front door.

-——No matter what everyone might “thnk” will happen, you can’t have laws without enforcing them-——

Wait’ you said that with a straight face under this administration !

-——. If they relly don’t have one, they’ll have to get one.-——

Apple is supposed to develop one and give it to them for free ?

And you trust the government not to use it ever again on your phone?

No. Give Apple the phone. Tell Apple to print out paper document applicable information on the terrorist attack. Destroy the phone. Where is the risk since no encryption or OS is shared or divulged?

It sound like you are assuming this is divulging open encryption architecture.

Trump should task one of his advisors to first listen to Rush and then take a position on these issues.

“And you trust the government not to use it ever again on your phone?”

Well, I guess I could pull a Black Lives Matter stunt and insist Black men should try to avoid cops because of what might happen, but I’ll stick with obeying the law.

"If this Big Brother crap keeps up I’m gonna turn into a Luddite forswear technology and get my privacy back."

Many are doing so, and less consumer spending leads to less revenues, increasing government debts. On to default, repudiations of debt and much smaller government. Very sad situation, but technically inclined people will rebuild after the follies.

“The only correct solution is for the FBI to give the phone to Apple and let them devise a way to copy the contents.”

Isn’t there a “chain of custody” issue there? To leave law enforcement possession? I guess they could allow an FBI agent to tag along, keeping an eye on the phone. Or, better yet, deputize one of the techs.

What am I thinking...there’s not gonna be a trial. Perps have already met allah.

Not sure how to respond, Cobra, mostly because I don’t understand your terminology.

As I understand it, Apple designed hardware that has encryption technology that makes it impossible for Apple (or anyone else) to get into your data without destroying the data.

The other smart phones do not have this technology, and the .gov or john doe hacker can easily break into these . This irritates the .gov, who now wants Apple to redo their security so the .gov, and john doe hacker to be able to hack in, just like the others.

They want Apple products to be as insecure as the rest of the companies. Apple refuses.

Apple can’t break into this single iPhone because of the way the overall technology is designed. The .gov wants this technology changed, so they can do that for this phone, and any other that interests them.

There is more to this than meets the eye, and I am not sure they will get anything off this phone that they haven’t been able to get from the “cloud”, cell phone towers, and leg work.

Why should we lose our privacy because of two dead islamic murderers?

Kind of like some islamic murderer blows up a plane with explosives in his underwear and we all have to fly naked from here on out. No thanks.

We might as well shut down the internet and go back to paper/pencil/cashiers who know how to count change/and IBM Selectrics. At least our infrastructure won’t be hackable if we go back to the technology of the 50s.

I am now sounding like a Luddite, so will quit. Computers have given us great blessings, but these come with a great dark downside that we should consider.
