The son of the late Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia is rejecting conspiracy theories that his father died of anything other than natural causes.
"Our family just has no doubt that he was taken from us by natural causes," Eugene Scalia said on the Laura Ingraham show on Wednesday. "We accept that. Weâre praying for him. We ask others to accept that and pray for him."
The younger Scalia's comments come after the justice's unexpected death on Saturday - and local authorities' decision not to conduct an autopsy - spurred conspiracy theories that something other than a heart attack may have claimed his life.
Donald Trump fueled those rumors on Tuesday when he said he found the location of a pillow on Scalia's bed suspicious.
"They say they found a pillow on his face, which is a pretty unusual place to find a pillow," Trump said, during an appearance on "The Savage Nation" radio show.
The owner of the Texas ranch where Scalia was staying later told CNN that the pillow was not, in fact, found on the justice's face.
"He had a pillow over his head, not over his face as some have been saying," said John Poindexter, owner of the Cibolo Creek Ranch.

Or maybe just posters with different opinions than yours?
Not likely.
Absent forensics, we have no proof. But we do have motive and opportunity, circumstantial evidence and so forth. We also have an Administration hell bent on destroying this country.
Early on, there were stories of Scalia ‘not feeling well.’ They disappeared. Were that true, medical assistance was warranted.
WHY do posters not want the forensics? Every single Democrat would demand/scream for it, were a Leftist Justice dead.
I saw my father in a heart attack. In bed at his home. It woke him up. The bedclothes were unkempt. And yes. The attack killed him, in the hospital.
I asked someone I know about this situation last night. In discussions with others known, to a man, no one believed that this death did not deserve an autopsy. Further, every man believes that it was not accidental. Each one is experienced in the field.
I am not disagreeing that there should have been an autopsy. I am disagreeing that your assertion that anyone who believes differently than you on this must be some paid agent provacateur. That charge is just waay too easy to spew.
Ah. I see. I did not say that anyone who disagrees with me is an agent provocateur. Just that the usual suspects I have noted in other events prove to do the same thing here. Once is happenstance. Twice is suspicious. Three times...
I do have my own set of names of such people.
And yes, Scalia was older than my father.
By the way, Scalia apparently smoked a pipe, though, not cigarettes. Factoid.
I’d like to see the phone logs of all those present at this Cibolo Ranch around the time of death. Those and the Swiss bank account wire transfers.
The lack of evidence of a conspiracy is further proof of the conspiracy’s thoroughness.
I don’t understand it though, the Bible is extremely clear on that.
I bet the family has been threatened.
The Catholic Church has made a lot of progress in the last few hundred years, but still diverges from the Bible in a few key areas. Older people in the Church still seem to believe that their departed loved ones are serving long stretches in Purgatory. It’s a holdover from the days when the Church would sell indulgences (which is the biggest single reason WHY there are Protestants today)
As far as I know, true catholicism has much to it that deviates from the word. This would be one issue for sure, but there are many others as well.
Who cares that the pillow story has changed, no one was present at the time of his death, there was no doctor present, no autopsy, or that a judge declared the cause of death as a heart attack and then natural causes without even looking at him.
Even illegal aliens found dead on the border are autopsied. But, who cares, he’s only a supreme court justice that had voted on several very big cases.
Very trollish of you.
Please do pray for the repose of his soul if you are of a mind. St Paul did it, and they did it in the catacombs, it has been done since the beginning of the Church. The dead are still part of the Church, it is the Communion of Saints.
Yeah, I’ve been trolling FR for over 15 years. You finally caught me. /s
heck, the rumors broke as quickly as the announcement of his death.
So, what do you really think?
Although it is entirely plausible and even likely that Scalia died suddenly of natural causes, why would the judge not opt to exclude foul play for US SC Justice?
Wouldn’t you argue that seeming rush to hide evidence is suspicious in view of the circumstances?
That's a strong premise that I certainly don't agree with. There was no attempt to hide any evidence whatsoever.
If Judge Scalia were my dad and knowing the health problems he suffered with, there is no way in hell would I agree to an autopsy which would likely require the top of his skull cut off, his chest cavity opened and a total inspection of his organs and dead body.
Leave the family alone by respecting their wishes and let them bury their father's body intact with the respect and reverence he deserves.......
That's all they're asking.........
Why no autopsy?
Wow!
What if every family had the right to veto an autopsy after a suspicious death.
Here is the case for suspicious circumstances:
Initially cause of reported as a heart attack, then changed to natural causes.
Pillow reported to be over head, then changed to on top of head.
No person witnessed death
No doctor present at time of death.
No doctor ruled on cause of death.
Death determined by a non-medical personnel, a judge.
Judged ruled death and cause of death over the phone.
No autopsy!
Body sent to funeral home and embalmed, thus denying blood samples/toxicology
Death occurred at resort owned by big Obama donor
Marshals report that Scalia refused protection
Several very big cases voted on by Scalia now voided by his death.
The families right to privacy does not preclude the public’s right to determine the exact cause of death of such an important figure that affects the lives of every citizenate justice of the US SC.
