Donald Trump holds a broad 16-point lead among those likely to vote in South Carolina's Republican primary this Saturday, according to a new CNN/ORC Poll. Meanwhile, Hillary Clinton tops Bernie Sanders by 18 points in the state's Democratic primary, which will be held a week later.
In the Republican race, Trump, at 38%, tops Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, who holds second place with 22%. Behind those two, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio garners 14% support, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush is at 10%, retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson has 6% and Ohio Gov. John Kasich is at 4%.

Ok, I’ll grant you that most polls haven’t run for several months. Augusta CHronicle has, Cruz was 18, then 21, now 20. A couple of those going back to summer, he’s up a lot since summer. Don’t have many from December onward.
“Ummmm..its Trumpbots that keep saying that about any poll that goes against Trump.”
I mean the constant absurd hope from his supporters that every poll is completely wrong and that some magical Cruz “ground game” is some factor that makes all of these surveys inaccurate or that there is this hidden army of Evangelicals that are secretly being missed that will all of a sudden rush the polls and 100% vote for Cruz....because who knows.
The reason Gingrich won SC last time was because of the debate and taking on the media.
It wasnt the ground game. It was because Newt was fighting the enemy.
“RCP Averages had Gingrich ahead anywhere from 5-10 points ahead in the days preceding the election”
I proved that you told THE LIE OF THE YEAR with that one. You should be ashamed to show your face here after that changer.
Again it's not Cruz supporters who do that. It's the Trumpbots who regularly trash every single poll that goes against Trump here on FR.
Again my original post was that the polls are all over the place, with very wide variations. And I proved it.
Well try Bush v Trump on best represents Republican values. I would vote Bush hands down - both the party and the candidate are ideally matched empty suits.
Well, that always is in flux. Is Cruz the “liar?” Is Trump the “blowhard?”
Teddy Roosevelt, a man of pretty high character, nevertheless was petty and nasty and childish when it came to businesses he didn’t like. Ulysses Grant lied in official reports about following orders. So I take some of this with a grain of salt, because we just don’t know them.
I would bet that most of the soldiers who have experienced the horrors of combat would agree that their service was dishonored by the hollow victory that was pursued and achieved.
press 1 if you want to speak English to Mr Trump.
press 2 if you want to speak Spanish to Crubio.
Cruz will win because of his vastly superior ground game, just like he did in Iowa.

That may be true. We will see, but my comment was about the reason Newt won.
Newt did not win because of a ground game. He won because of taking on the media in the debate.
Do you understand the difference between a poll of South Carolina prior to the Republican primary and a national poll ? Your post of national poll numbers is irrelevant.
In the State of South Carolina Gingrich averaged 33.5% to Romney's 28.5% in state polls prior to the primary. Romney received 28% and Gingrich outperformed at 40%.
those are old polls before any votes.. when Trump sweeps the nomination his poll numbers will rise significantly
Better than trumps.
