Donald Trump has invented a new way to win
New York Post ^ | 2/15/16 | Mark Cunningham

The other GOP candidates are finally starting to fight on Donald Trump’s terms, to judge by the slugfest that was Saturday night’s debate. But it speaks volumes — whole encyclopedias — about the ignorance of our political and media elites that they’re only now realizing that much of what Trump’s been doing is just busting balls.

It’s a blue-collar ritual, with clear rules — overtly insulting, sure, but with infinite subtleties. It can be a test of manliness, a sign of respect, a way of bonding and much more.

Rule No. 1: You can wince, but don’t squeal.

Rule No. 2: Bust right back, if you can.

Not knowing how to play is no excuse. And not getting it shows you have no idea how a huge swath of America lives — the Americans whom Trump has made his base.

From the start, Trump targeted the (mostly) white working class, which happens to be 40 percent of the country. And he’s done it not just with issues, but with how he talks — the ball-busting, the “bragging,” the over-the-top promises.

“By the way, can you tell me how to hold my knife and fork at the table?”

You’re not my kid. Go ask your own daddy.

We has a rider from NUC who loved his Mountain Dew. The MPA instigated a little joke on him. This was back when the cans had a soldered seam. So they drill a hole in the can, drain the contents, and filled it with Listerine. Then they soldered over the hole. Next time the guy asked, “Anybody got a Mountain Dew” they tossed him the can. Damn if that guy didn’t take a big swig, swallow it, hand it to his NUC buddy saying, “Here you want some?” What a Mensch!

So blue collar, working class people in this country, who are getting screwed six ways from Sunday, by the government, are idiots and not worthy of the right to vote!

My what an elitist you are. You only let them into your country club to take out the trash, right?

Submariners have been doing this from the beginning. Can not take some s4it, can not keep focused on keeping the thing from sinking - then get off my boat!

A few minutes of good harassment can sort out who are the girly men really quickly.

During my last 3 years of active Naval Reserve, I was part of the recruiting team. My main job in a maximum of 10-15 minutes was to weed out the weak, druggies, fakes and criminals to lighten the load of the people doing the full background checks. I had their test scores and their brief life history to look at. I had a few questions to start with like your welcome to the boat. It was amazing how many were weeded out in a few minutes. Shipmates did not want a cry baby with them on a ship and in a GQ situation.

“I bet all the commie-libs in SC are voting Trump. It’s an open primary. Great strategy.”

Uh, there’s a contest on the other side, you know. Unlike in 2008, when the Dems bombed Fred Thompson’s campaign by voting for McStain, they don’t have the ability to stay away from their own primary this time.

That said, I despise the very idea of an “open” primary. Why call it a Republican (or Democrat, for that matter) primary if someone can declare their preference the day of an election? There should be national rules, that you must be a declared whatever at least 1 year before a primary to be eligible to vote in the primary.

The more DT relies on Xover RATS to win, the more beholden he is to them to win re-election. But that’s OK because Wall Wall Wall according to his supporters. Could end up the same pyhrric victory as Cochran over McDaniel.

Oh my god, stop it! Mrs. Jackson is calling 9111 because I am rolling on the floor convlusions so strong I cannot even breathe.

That is a classic! Thank goodness I had already swallowed my coffee.

One of the things that folks don't get is that the really smart guys on submarines are not the officers, but the rated enlisted. These are guys who scored in the 99th percentile on their ASVABs. I was convinced that the real challenge was that a lot of them were juvenile delinquents, but were too smart to get caught, and I had to put up with it for months at a time underwater. The antics were classic.

I take that to mean that you do not have a problem with a candidate that cannot muster more than 15% support within his own party.

In a political horse race, the windows are still open after the bell and the swing of the gates.

However, doubling down on the one three lengths back is called a long shot.

There is a reason for that.

In this particular case, after many years of grumbling that both parties are different sides of the same coin, we have another coin, who is espousing real change, not politically correct, willing to take the heat and dishing it back at them, and you would prefer we give him a pass and go for another one who is, after all, the other side of the same coin.

Is it because, this time, THIS time, it will truly be different?

Winning a primary with 35% isn't winning. It's just losing with the highest result.

So what do you call second place at 16%? Losing even more with the second highest result?

Liberals have been "winning" the same way Trump is "winning" for years: pandering to the lowest common intellectual denominator.

So says the intellectual genius.

You are grasping for straws, I'm not here to defend Bush's conservative credentials. It is quite evident that he was only conservative in a few areas.

However, Trump was never a Conservative, NEVER, but now, all of a sudden he is one, while supporting Planned Parenthood, Code Pink and Michael Moore?
