Trump certainly sound like Obama when he was talking about George Bush. If there werenât WMDâs how did Saddam Hussein use them? Why did we keep finding left overs for many years to come? Yes, Saddam exaggerated what he had, but there was enough WMDâs to worry about. Plus I donât know anyone even on the liberal side that blames Bush for 9-11. That was just way off. This really could be Trumpâs downfall.
Check it out:
Donald Trump and Jeb Bush argue over Iraq, 9/11 and weapons of mass destruction at Saturday nightâs debate moderated by CBS News. Trump addresses comments in made in 2008 where he said he was not surprised then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi didnât try to impeach Bush over Iraq.
âThe World Trade Center came down during the reign of George Bush,â Trump said to a strong reaction from the audience. âThatâs not keeping us safe.â
âGeorge Bush made a mistake. We can make mistakes. But that one was a beauty. We should have never been in Iraq. We have destabilized the Middle East,â Trump said.
âYou call it whatever you want. I will tell you. They lied. They said there were weapons of mass destruction and there were none. And they knew there were none. There were no weapons of mass destruction,â Trump ripped Bush.

I’ve seen this asserted before, however the kid gloves at which we have had to handle Saudi Arabia are partly the fault of our own energy policies.
And also, just how tied is the SA government to the band of terrorists who attacked America? Was this stuff going on truly unbeknownst to them? I can’t envision them wanting to be so cavalier towards their best oil customer. I wouldn’t launch a war on a mere suspicion, especially if they proved to offer their help afterwards to deal with such bands in their territory.
“Admit it, Bush attacked the wrong country.”
No, he did not. Attacking Saudi Arabia was out of the question. It would have destroyed the world economy. Meanwhile, Iraq had violated the cease-fire agreement that ended the first gulf war, and the fighting there brought in extremists from Saudi and Iran to die fighting us.
We were not attacked by a GOVERNMENT in 9/11, but by terrorists. Those terrorists came to Iraq to fight, and we killed them there, keeping America safe for a decade. It was the right thing to do.
The biggest goof up was the attempt to wish a democracy on Iraq. A better result would have looked like Iran under the shah, before Jimmy Carter got cold feet on supporting that because the shah wasn’t always making his sausage in the cleanest possible manner.
Which is a lesson to extremists of all stripes. Turn too hard on a not very good friend and you might end up with a stark enemy.
“The United States had gone to war declaring it must destroy an active weapons of mass destruction program. Instead, American troops gradually found and ultimately suffered from the remnants of long-abandoned programs, built in close collaboration with the West.”
This is from YOUR cited article.
Do you actually rationalize and justify the destabilization of the Middle East , an illegal invasion into a sovereign country that had done nothing to this country— 5000 dead soldiers, 38,000 wounded soldiers , 300,000 dead Iraqi civilians and tribal militia and $ 3 trillion of dollars that could have been used on our infrastructure and our own people— and you justify that on “the remnants of long-abandoned programs, built in close collaboration with the West.”? Just curious.
Go TRUMP!!
Just like Obama is America’s enemy without’s Trojan Horse weapon being used against us....
I now believe that Trump is the leftist Democrats’ Trojan Horse weapon to use against the Republican Party....
for the purpose of destroying us, their opposition, “from within”. And it’s working splendidly, I might add. Who needs RINOs when you have Trump stumping for the rats?
Stories like that are never truly scrubbed, no matter how hard the PC left tries. There are always people (like me) out there that take screen shots and save/archive the articles to .pdf format. I have several such files, in fact.
Big difference. Bush was still trying to get his cabinet in and hadn’t even had time to organize his staff when 9/11 occurred. Obama has been in office, busily working to destroy America, for over seven years now. It’s a blinkin miracle that we haven’t been attacked on his watch...yet. But then...timing is everything.
I remember quite well the reports of the vandalism from the sore-loser Clintonistas (friends of Al Bore).
They were just doing the bidding of their masters, the gangster duo, Bill and Hillary.
And now, 15 years later....Donald Trump is bashing George W. Bush....just another lieberal doing their bidding. And for what? To get more votes? Nah. To get more leftist approval and kudos.
“The biggest goof up was the attempt to wish a democracy on Iraq.”
That is a valid point.
“9-11 was Bush’s fault!”
“Bush lied to attack Iraq.”
I’m trying to decide if these are Rosey O’Donnel or Donald Trump. Which one is the “ugly pig” now?
“No you are just a good obedient slave that is never skeptical of what you are being told if it has a âRâ by its name as the Founding Fathers said we should be.”
You say this as you wholly swallow everything Trump says. No matter what he said yesterday or tomorrow. You aren’t even questioning him when he quotes Rosie O’Donnell...
And yes, he currently has an “R” after his name, so how is your behavior any different than what you are projecting onto others?
“Bush did not keep us safe. We lost over 3,000 Americans on September 11th, 2001,”
This is an absolute sick and UNAMERICAN statement. You should be ashamed of yourself. This statement actually places the blame for years of preceeding attacks and years of planning by TERRORISTS onto the US President that had been in office a just shy of 9 months.
Your implication is that GWB could have taken some action to stop 9-11. I challenge you to NAME IT. The 19 hijackers had been here for years on expired student visas.
“When ISIS attacks the U.S. do you equally say itâs not Obamaâs fault?”
Actually, yes. Your moral equivalency argument is jouvenile at best and more likely infantile. You want to equate 8 months in office to 7 years in office, you want to equate creating a vacum in Iraq, leading to ISIS to having taken no direct action on the entire continent.
Your position blames all AMERICANS for the OBL coordinated attack. It is the same as saying we deserve it, simply because we exist.
You should be ashamed of your own words. I doubt that you are.
Let me add one more thing. Posts such as yours make me regret the years I sacrificed in defense of our Constitution.
They have totally lost their minds and since their new shiny toy arrived on the scene they are willing to destroy anyone and anything that stands in their way.
Please do not let them make you regret your service. They aren’t worth it.
Granted it’s a leap of faith, but I’m trusting the judgement of people that have known Trump for a long time. Trump was a business man in a big liberal city for a long time. He had to play the game. I get that.
You really think Cruz is going to save you? He will be disqualified by a shopped federal judge. Therefore, we will be stuck with a Rubio, Bush, Mitt or even Kasich. All horrible candidates that never made it the private sector.
Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result is called being stupid or insane. No thank you.
All I hear are EXCUSES from the Bushbots... You may disagree with what I’m saying, but I have that Right to say it. It’s called the Bill of Rights. Have you ever heard of the 1st Amendment? Good men and women died to protect that right.
To call anyone unAmerican simply because you disagree with them IS unAmerican. That’s what you get in North Korea. If that is your type of society, then you should move there.
Yes Clinton is to get the blame too. However, to say the President of the United States shares 0 blame for the responsibility of the National Security of the United States which is his number 1 job IS luticris. Please tell me if its not day one, then when POTUS responsible for the National Security of the U.S. ???
I understand you can’t stop determined people, but the POTUS is still responsible for the National Security of the United States good or bad whether you like it or not. That’s the way it works. If you are in charge, and bad things happen then you will get the blame. That’s the way it works in life. That’s how it’s done in the military AND in business. Only a child would not understand this. It’s called being a leader and taking responsibility. Now granted the overseas, in this instance we the people, can decide that. Nevertheless, it’s on his watch whether you like it or not.
It’s good to see you blame Obama for terrorist attacks. He should get the blame, but National Security starts on day one. Now you can make the defense he was in office almost 9 months and that was not enough time. Although I dont think that’s going to convince many people.
You need to do your homework on 911. I’m not going to do it for you. You can start with the 28 missing pages out if the 911 Report. See what congress on both sides of the political aisle said about it. They all agree it’s extremely damaging.
You have to do your own research, suspend your emotions, look at the evidence, listen to the witnesses, etc.. Just like a Jury in a court case Then come up with your own conclusion. If you are letting the media do that, then you are being misled. Which may explain your reply.
For the record I served too and I have ZERO regret. Moreover, I almost never use that point as leverage against someone I disagreed with unles I’m being attacked. We were put on this Earth by God and not the State. I believe in human freedom as God intended it, His Will and not someone that wants to DICTATE policy to me. Who died and said they are God?
Trump got those lines when he was sleeping with her..
“All I hear are EXCUSES from the Bushbots... You may disagree with what Iâm saying, but I have that Right to say it. “
I am certainly no Bushbot and the fact that you have to resort to using that term is an indicator of your shallow thinking. It is really easy to try and re-write history a decade and a half later, but I remember things quite accurately.
And yes, when you start spouting the same comments as Michael Moore, Cindy Sheehan and Rosie O’Donnel, all well known America Haters, then I CAN call you unAmerican. Your statements, and those of Trump, mirror the worst of the worst from the left. The same folks that were spouting this nonsense were also crapping on the US flag. You shall be known by your associations.
BTW, in all of those words that you use to justify your behaviour, I didn’t see a single example of what Bush could have done to stop 9/11. I’m not surprised.
