GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump says he does not agree with comments from Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia questioning the efficacy of affirmative action.
"I don't like what he said, no, I donât like what he said. I heard him, I was like, 'Let me read it again,' because I actually read it in print, and Iâm going, I read a lot of stuff, and Iâm going, 'Woah,'" Trump said in an interview televised Sunday on CNN's "State of the Union."
The billionaire said he thought Scalia's comments were "very tough to the African-American community."
Trump, who has supported affirmative action in the past but declined to say whether he was in favor of it today, said he has great friendships with black people.
"I have great African-American friendships," he said. "I have just amazing relationships. And so many positive things have happened."
In oral argument for a case challenging affirmative action at public universities earlier this week, Scalia posited that minority students who were not qualified for admission at elite universities would perform better at "less-advanced schools."
Scalia was excoriated by Democratic lawmakers, including Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), who called his comments "racist."

So what do I win? I'm kinda hoping for $1,000,000....
...or maybe some chocolate. That will work too...

“Also, I wonât defend Trumpâs remarks over Scaliaâs words. Trump was wrong. Scalia didnât mean what Trump thought he did, that is blacks arenât s smart as whites.”
Even though the science suggests that’s true I agree that is not what Scalia meant. What he was saying is that if you put people with SAT scores of 750 in schools geared for those with scores of 1200 you are setting them up for failure.

Aw that’s boring. What would FR be if everyone were silent? It would be dead. And that would suck.
To: TheStickman
This is what concerns me about Trump, his desire to jump onto the populist bandwagon w/o understanding the issue.
Even someone w/ minimum reading comprehension would understand that Scalia's remarks were well considered and have been a genuine concern for a long time.
The question isn't about AA it's about putting blacks into the best situation to succeed. The drop-out rates for blacks at elite universities is an issue and some of the best minds in that community suffer because of PC.
Trump, the so-called enemy of PC, shows that in fact, he's nothing of the kind.
