The opening questions of the CBS Republican debate naturally surrounded the death of Justice Antonin Scalia, with Donald Trump being the first up to bat. Responding to the question of appointing Justice Scalia's replacement, Trump said he believed Obama would pick a successor within the remaining 11 months of his presidency- and if Trump were in the president's shoes, he would do the same.
Nevertheless, Trump had some advice to those interested in protecting Scalia's legacy of conservatism: "Delay, delay, delay." Watch below.

Trump should have said “I would appoint Ted Cruz”.

Good points bump!
I don’t disagree. They are individually more interested in their own, cloistered feathered beds than they are about the travesties and travails of drive-by America. To them, they are beyond and beside all that petty personal concern.
Despicable scoundrels of no worth in my book.
What president wouldn’t appoint someone in this situation? The guy died.
Here’s a source from a later thread.
He said it in the debate, and post debate interviews.
I think you are 100% spot-on with your analysis of the situation here. We must be prepared to light up the phones/inboxes of our Senators, with whatever Obama tries. Because he is going to try to get a nominee through. Guaranteed.
Is there a provision for the Supreme Court to operate with a vacancy? Or, does all work come to a stop now?
There is precedent for the SC to operate with only 8 justices, but this isn't going to stop Obama and his minions. We must be prepared to fight come Tuesday. I believe he's going to nominate someone then. We must not let this happen. We must remind our Senators (especially those of us who live in Red/Purple states), that we have had ENOUGH of capitulation! We will not stand for GOPe "business as usual" NOT in this situation!
We must fight for this; or else the election itself is meaningless. If the SC is stacked with leftist justices, this country is done. D-O-N-E, done!
I understand completely. My comment is that in order to have a pair of balls, one first has to have a spine to which they can be attached. :0)

Thanks. Appreciate it.
Something I finally agree with the Trumpster on!
