It has been confirmed that Judge Scalia is dead in his room at a Texas resort. No eulogy, but the man will far more than deeply missed as a soldier holding the line for our Constitution.
Suddenly this election has become much more complicated and more important than even the most pessimistic among us had realized. We must use this election as a final and clearest of statements to the US Senate that will confirm Obama's next(and rapid) appointment to the Supreme Court; that THEY MUST NOT ACT TO CONFIRM Scalia's successor, UNTIL this election is over!!
We must come together now, no matter what candidate we support and FLOOD every senator's switchboard and mail box.
Contact every conservative network in your grass roots, be it Libertarian, Church,Legal Bureau, and,yes- Prayer Chain you know of.
IF, IF this Republican Senate will not find the guts to do this much, we must make them understand CLEARLY that they will from that moment ceased to exist, as a political party.
We dont even need to think of the Crap that Obama could push through the Court if they cave and betray this time.
But if the Republican’s approve Obama’s pick, they will win favor among those who don’t like them. </ sarc>
The Senate has proved its spinelessness.
Valerie Jarrett or Eric Holder - what’s the betting line?
There is a remarkable opportunity for all parties to come together here and do something incredible:
Cruz and Trump meet. Cruz agrees immediately to swing his support behind Trump and Trump promises publicly to name Cruz as his first USSC nominee.
The GOPe agrees to stall all Obama nominees till after the election and tell National Review T@rds to back off and get with the program.
Everyone wins. Cruz gets an incredible, secured seat on the USSC, when he almost certainly will lose the nomination; Trump gets the presidency. GOP ensures control of the USSC with a guy who is reliable and vetted.
Get real - how many of these phone-in campaigns have there been? RINOs always cave.
I’ll tell you one thing...I DO NOT TRUST TRUMP to name a conservative to the court. We must elect Ted Cruz.
PREDICTION:
Ginsburg will announce her “retirement” within the week.
This will force the Rubbies to act on SCOTUS appointments immediately.
We will get TWO Libs SCOTUS appointments for the price of one.
They are dancing in the WH now.
Where’s the part of that story where we all get brand-new cars and dream houses?
Absolutely. Trump will nominate the worst judges ever. No thanks.
” This will force the Rubbies to act on SCOTUS appointments immediately.”
How would that force them to act? I mean, RINOs always cave, but what specifically about a Ginsburg retirement would “force” them to act.
That’s what I was thinking.
You might want to stop being so cynical and try to save the country first. This is a legitimate suggestion, and Cruz would benefit greatly.
Course, he could continue as is and lose the nomination and have NO leverage. The only time for him to act is now, while he has some leverage.
Or Congress can reduce the size of the Supremes Court from 9 to 7.
I pray that the US Senate will take your advice. Fortunately, Mitch McConnell is in charge of this. What could go wrong? BTW, for those who wonder what Ted Cruz has ever done for us, his negative accomplishments are relevant here:

“Ted Cruz Is Vowing To Block A Bunch Of Obama’s Nominees ... Again . . . Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) says he will block all of President Barack Obama’s nominees to the State Department — there are about 40 ambassadors in the queue . . .”

“Angry GOP Senate freezes out Obama nominees - Jamming up nominations is one of the last weapons the Senate GOP can use to hit back at the administration . . .”
The only problem with this is would McConnell support a Cruz nomination...and allow the vote? He might just want to get rid of him! Then, it’s certainly President Trump...Mitch might not like that either! Washington must be having a conniption this evening!
