But if the Republican’s approve Obama’s pick, they will win favor among those who don’t like them. </ sarc>

There is a remarkable opportunity for all parties to come together here and do something incredible:

Cruz and Trump meet. Cruz agrees immediately to swing his support behind Trump and Trump promises publicly to name Cruz as his first USSC nominee.

The GOPe agrees to stall all Obama nominees till after the election and tell National Review T@rds to back off and get with the program.

Everyone wins. Cruz gets an incredible, secured seat on the USSC, when he almost certainly will lose the nomination; Trump gets the presidency. GOP ensures control of the USSC with a guy who is reliable and vetted.

I’ll tell you one thing...I DO NOT TRUST TRUMP to name a conservative to the court. We must elect Ted Cruz.

Absolutely. Whether we support Trump, Cruz, Rubio, JEB, whomever, we MUST come together on this and say loud and clear: No replacement until after the election. No way, no how.

Obama will likely waste no time in putting forth an Eric Holder type and demanding confirmation. We must not yield.

PREDICTION:

Ginsburg will announce her “retirement” within the week.
This will force the Rubbies to act on SCOTUS appointments immediately.
We will get TWO Libs SCOTUS appointments for the price of one.

I pray that the US Senate will take your advice. Fortunately, Mitch McConnell is in charge of this. What could go wrong? BTW, for those who wonder what Ted Cruz has ever done for us, his negative accomplishments are relevant here:

“Ted Cruz Is Vowing To Block A Bunch Of Obama’s Nominees ... Again . . . Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) says he will block all of President Barack Obama’s nominees to the State Department — there are about 40 ambassadors in the queue . . .”

“Angry GOP Senate freezes out Obama nominees - Jamming up nominations is one of the last weapons the Senate GOP can use to hit back at the administration . . .”

You're kidding. You can bet your last dollar that DC Republicans have already started working with the Obama administration on this. The Republicans WILL confirm a SC nominee agreeable to Obama, i.e., a liberal, a John Roberts-stealth type, or just and up-front lefty.

The Republicans in Washington will TOTALLY join in with Obama on this. They are all together, they are the same. The Republicans are no different from Obama. They are on the same team. They are working together on the same goals.

Its time to permanently neutralize this lawless bunch of degenerates who call themselves the Supreme Court.

NO SENATE VOTE ON ANY nomination by the communist ANIMAL in the White House, then 7 new appointees by Trump bringing the number to 15, thereby taking this current menagerie of homosexuals, eggheads, marxists and blackmail victims out of any position to stop a hard right agenda to make this country great again.

This is an opportunity from GOD.

The war on the least important branch of government who has assumed unconstitutional and dictatorial powers and is complicit in the degeneration of the United States has begun.

Just heard Cruz tweet on FNC saying the same thing. Next up, McCain, Lindsey and others lined up to approve Obama’s nominee before they even know who it is.

This is incredibly consequential considering the 5-4 make-up of the court, and considering that Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has been widely rumored to be considering leaving the court.

If Obama is able to replace Scalia and Ginsburg the Supreme Court could shift to 3-6 in favor of liberal ideological worldview prior to the end of President Obama’s term in office.

http://theconservativetreehouse.com/2016/02/13/breaking-supreme-court-justice-antonin-scalia-dies/

Scalia’s unexpected passing sets up a politically charged battle to replace him. Mere moments after his death was confirmed, Conn Carroll, a key staffer for Senator Mike Lee (R-UT), promised Republicans would block anyone that Obama nominated.
