Thursday, February 11, 2016: GOP Presidential candidate Donald Trump will hold a campaign rally in Baton Rouge, LA at the Baton Rouge River Center. The event is scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM CST.
As the "Capital City", Baton Rouge is the political hub for Louisiana, and is the second-largest metropolitan city in the state, with an estimated population of 228,895 as of 2014. The metropolitan area surrounding the city, known as Greater Baton Rouge, had a population of 820,159 people as of 2013.The urban area has around 594,309 inhabitants.
HOW DID BATON ROUGE GET ITS NAME?
The French name le baton rouge ("the red stick") is the translation of a native term rendered as Istrouma, possibly a corruption of the Choctaw iti humma ("red pole") Andre Joseph Penicaut, a carpenter traveling with d'Iberville, published the first full-length account of the expedition in 1723. According to Penicaut,
"From there [Manchacq] we went five leagues higher and found very high banks called ecorts in that region, and in savage called Istrouma which means red stick [baton rouge], as at this place there is a post painted red that the savages have sunk there to mark the land line between the two nations, namely: the land of the Bayagoulas which they were leaving and the land of another nationâthirty leagues upstream from the baton rouge named the Oumas."

At this time, I have no idea if the event will be in the large arena or the theater.
Thank you for the ping, and the information, it’s a pleasure seeing the information you have ready for us, and it’s highly appreciated....
GO.TRUMP.GO!!!
Trump is playing the media like a fiddle at the local sap’s convention, and they’re too stupid to know it.
I’m not so sure that it will be a close race. The last poll in late January has Trump leading by 16 points, with Cruz the distant 2nd. Granted, this was prior to Cruz’s victory in IA, and Trump’s lopsided victory in NH. However, a FL poll out yesterday, taken after IA, showed that Cruz got next to no bounce out of IA, and Trump retains a double digit lead in FL.
It should also be noted that in NH the Real Clear Politics average for Trump was 31, and he won by 35, he over-performed the polling. This may also be a factor in SC, as it is a primary and not a caucus, and doesn’t require the same type of ground game.
Given the massive size of Trump’s win in NH, the momentum is clearly on his side.
Yesterday, Cruz held a rally of 200 people, and Trump rallied about 5,000.
Yep!
A little tidbit from the Morning Joe show. Nicolle Wallace said her mom is registering as a Republican in Nevada so she can caucus for TRUMP. Bwahh!
Well at least your honest about your contempt for law and order.
Sorry, previous ping had incorrect time shown. Please See Update Below:

The fact that Trump is leaving SC to do this event in Louisiana, and another event in Tampa tomorrow, shows that he’s pretty confident of his lead in SC. I’ve read that his GOTV effort is pretty solid with thousands of volunteers manning phones, and knocking on doors. Plus, he’s got at least 4 more big rallies scheduled for SC.
Morning Joe reported 5000 at Trump’s Clemson rally.
FOX’s Martha Mccallum now reports 3000 in attendance.
These Establishment Socialists are so transparent in their lies!
GO TRUMP!
The venue had seating for about 3,000+, then there those who were standing, from the pictures looked like at least 2,000, so I’m guessing it was about 5,000, give or take a few hundred.
I’m not sure what you’re insinuating. There was a post yesterday of a live Ted Cruz rally on the side bar. Didn’t you see it?
I’m sure if there is one today, and you can do the leg work, and find it for everyone, they will post it in Breaking News for you.
Again, not sure how this goes against the “rule of law?” Why? Can you explain for us?
They’ve got it listed as 7:00pm (CST) time.

The exchanges between he and Bush are getting comical. It's like when someone like Bush is this big kid who keeps taunting a smaller kid, and then finally the smaller kid beats the living crapola out of him.
Ooops. I got my threads crossed. Disregard that last post.
