It’s “funny” but NOWHERE in the many tens of thousands of words talking about the Channel Tunnel’s “military” vunerablilities were there ANY discussions about the impact on Calais as a “city-port-train station” where the invading army would have to “sit and park” while it waited to invade.
See, the English WERE WORRIED about their security, and there are defenses within the tunnel to stop an invading army’s from driving through the tunnel, but ... about Calais itself being an camp ground of the invaders?
I've been to France, Germany, Spain, and a few other nations in Europe.
Even as those people decided to band together to “fight” against the USA, economically.(While they cowered under our military defense umbrella as varying degrees of NATO membership signatories)
France in particular, has been a backstabbing false ally for many decades.
Throughout the decades of sanctions against Iran and Iraq, they were busily lining their socialist pockets, and fomenting animosity against the USA throughout the middle east and Africa.
An extremely tiny minority of people in most of those nations voiced any opposition to what their nations were doing.
Oh well!

The Channel Tunnel (”Chunnel”) is a rail link. Automobiles go on trains. In an emergency, you stop running the trains and blow the tunnel, or at least flood it.
I think this is what he’s talking about. It’s dated Sunday though.
