Ben Carson said Wednesday he will be staying in the Republican race, despite a poor showing in New Hampshire, and is hoping to win big in South Carolina.
"I'm not getting any pressure from our millions of supporters (to leave the race). I'm getting a lot of pressure to make sure I stay in the race," Carson told CNN's Jake Tapper on "The Lead." "You know, they're reminding me that I'm here because I responded to their imploring me to get involved. And I respect that and I'm not just going to walk away from the millions of people who are supporting me."

But Carson, who at one point attracted strong support from evangelical voters, said he expected to do well in South Carolina.
"I think I can win South Carolina. We're going to be putting a lot of time resources and effort here," Carson said.
Carson also downplayed his New Hampshire loss, saying he decided not to focus there on purpose.
"We didn't spend nearly as much money in New Hampshire as many others," Carson said. "We didn't spend anywhere near millions of dollars there, recognizing there were certain things that were going to happen there. So you have to pick your battles very carefully. We're doing just fine, people will continue to support us, we will move forward."

Will Dr. Carson get some sympathy votes, instead of their going to Cruz, because of the Iowa campaign shenanigans?
Oy, gevalt!
Neither did Ted Cruz, yet he still came in third.
That would help Bush
Bennie should have taken a shot at governor or Congress first.
Too big a jump to make the leap to POTUS.
Dr. Carson is either self medicating or living in an alternate universe.
He’s staying in the race until the book sales dry up.
Ben is trying to keep his name out front to sell books. This is a book campaign masquerading as a political campaign.

If Dr. Carson cared about conservatives he would do the right thing and drop out.
But he has this money machine now.
Ben is broke and his staff walked off except for those he let go.
Yeah Ben, it’s only a flesh wound.
I commend him for doing this. Heck with those calling for his departure. We have had two states. If he has the money and desire, I say go as long as you want. I find it hilarious that people are demanding him to get out and lives in the United States of America. Since when does somebody not be able to run for President as long as the want. I suppose those naysayers would rather live in North Korea.
Everybody knows it’s over for Dr. Carson except Dr. Carson.
I can’t believe that trumpets are still beating this dead horse when clarification like the link above has been available for going on 48 hours now. Although you probably won’t bother to read it but will continue poisoning the well.
I was for Cruz and then Trump but frankly the Trump supporters on FR have been a real turn off. The unjust firestorm the trumpets have mounted on FR against Cruz has earned you more than a few defections from the Trump banner.
