Former First Lady Barbara Bush appeared alongside her son and presidential candidate Jeb Bush on CBS "This Morning" on Friday, mocking Russian President Vladimir Putin's positive comments about Donald Trump. Jeb Bush, once the presumed front-runner for the Republican nomination for president, has fallen dramatically in the polls over the past several months while Trump has overtaken him and the rest of the field. On CBS, Jeb Bush vowed to stay in the race even if he loses the New Hampshire primary, which is set to be held next Tuesday. "This Morning" co-host Norah O'Donnell brought up an advertisement that's currently running in New Hampshire and has been assailed by Trump. Barbara Bush appeared in the ad to advocate for her son, and Trump mocked it by saying that Jeb "desperately needed mommy to help him."

“Marco the Knife.”
I’m sure he would.
When has Jimmy Carter ever been right about anything? Carter has been wrong on pretty much anything he has opined on in the last 40 years. Why start taking what he says as wise and profound now?
“THAT is a horrid photo.
His poor mother looks like an old, homeless bag lady pushing a shopping cart.”
On the other hand, this is the dynasty that knowingly and deliberately dismantled the Reagan revolution and perverted the word conservative to mean neocon. I’m sort of happy seeing their down to this to hold on. Like those German horse cart supply columns at the end of WWII.
And Yeb? Steiner isn’t coming. Better find some cool things to do.
That and we both want them to watch it burn.
Those are frightening.
Hopefully this year will be a twofer. Both Bush and Clinton dynasties will burn.
From your keyboard to God’s punchlist. Serious here.
Go back to retirement Barbara
I don’t know where Beck has been this past week (except whining on the air), I’m just wondering why the Cruz campaign didn’t fly him into New Hampshire and send him door-to-door to rouse up all those heathens, lol
Not to mention, the one dimensional friend/enemy continuums can miss a lot of important details. FDR might not have thought all that grandly of Stalin, but was willing to coordinate with him on war affairs when the alternative was to let the Nazis drag everybody to hell.
Issues (properly prioritized) should be the most important thing and earthly alliances should be secondary to issues. We used to understand that. To regress to a kindergarten mentality is to forget everything that makes humanity, humanity and not mindless troups of fighting animals.
If Vladimir Putin were to approach a President Trump with a proposal for a mutual-interest pincer play on ISIS, should Trump automatically refuse? Even as Reagan would say towards the aging USSR, trust but verify.
Carter might be wiser than some modern “conservatives.” He knows Trump is offering a deal and believes that, should his (liberal) team want a place at the Trump table, Trump could be open to that.
Why “conservatives” do not view this as a similar opportunity to make hay while the sun shines is a puzzle to me. I’ve been advocating this for months here on FR... does Jimmuh (I did vote for him once, when I was younger and naive and unaware of his innate pessimism) read FR?
“What grown man would bring his elderly mother out in weather like that?
This guy is damaged goods.”
Exact same thought crossed my mind.
We don’t have to assume the most uncharitable thing possible to disagree with her idea. She might have even volunteered it at the dinner table and said she’d go out in the cold and snow to say so.
Still doesn’t make it anything more than personal, one-dimensional, wrongheaded enmity.
And anyhow I have other friends who say Putin is the worst of the worst. Friends from battle torn Ukraine. Not that Ukraine was itself wearing the shiniest of haloes in the lead-up to Crimea, nor was the USA for that matter. Big corruption and big turf tension remains a big problem in former Soviet territories.
I agree with their angst about his attacks (as ostensibly about Russian nationals as they were) but insist that no, this is not the most evil that it is possible to get, even though you saw it up close and personal.
Her other son saw Putin’s heart and got along great. Take your dynasty back to Texas.
Pray America wakes
Thanks. Seems a given.
I give her credit for taking on this role.
Good for her.
I disagree of course, but she’s still kickin’, and I admire that.
