“What grown man would bring his elderly mother out in weather like that?
This guy is damaged goods.”
Exact same thought crossed my mind.
We don’t have to assume the most uncharitable thing possible to disagree with her idea. She might have even volunteered it at the dinner table and said she’d go out in the cold and snow to say so.
Still doesn’t make it anything more than personal, one-dimensional, wrongheaded enmity.
And anyhow I have other friends who say Putin is the worst of the worst. Friends from battle torn Ukraine. Not that Ukraine was itself wearing the shiniest of haloes in the lead-up to Crimea, nor was the USA for that matter. Big corruption and big turf tension remains a big problem in former Soviet territories.
I agree with their angst about his attacks (as ostensibly about Russian nationals as they were) but insist that no, this is not the most evil that it is possible to get, even though you saw it up close and personal.
Thanks. Seems a given.
I give her credit for taking on this role.
Good for her.
I disagree of course, but she’s still kickin’, and I admire that.
