Ben Carson said late Saturday that Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas approached him during an off-camera break at ABCâs Republican debate to apologize for his campaignâs conduct during the Iowa caucuses and requested a one-on-one meeting with him.
âHe said heâs sorry that this happened and he wants to sit down and talk,â Carson said in an interview with The Washington Post. âHe wants to discuss the whole thing and clear the air.â
In the interview, Carson said pointedly that if the meeting with Cruz is scheduled, that does not mean the the senator will be absolved.
âThe evidence is there,â he said, citing voice-mails that his campaign has released of Cruz allies telling caucus-goers that Carson was likely to suspend his bid. âTapes, written communications, itâs all out there. People have to decide whether this kind of behavior is acceptable to them.â

Carson is really showing his ass over this thing. What a disappointment.
You are correct nothing Cruz can say to fix it. Now Carson will find out what a creep Cruz really is I hope he tells us.LOL
Oh wah wah wah. Carson’s polling numbers are so low and his campaign so unorganized it is pathetic. He is miffed that so many of his staffers quit his campaign and joined Cruz.
[Carson is really showing his ass over this thing. What a disappointment.]
Oh please... if someone pulled this crappie on Cruz you and the other Cruzers would be going apesh*t over it and demanding Carson withdraw from the race.
Some other candidate has made Ben a promise.
Bingo.
“that does not mean the the senator will be absolved.”
Cruz is in deep trouble.
So obvious . . .
The truth is clear. And its equally clear a fabrication is being promoted for another candidates benefit.
Go away Ben, it’s over. it was over before you started whining about all this stuff and it was your own people who created this flapex
Good grief....what is with CRuz? He doubled down on his fib, last night., got completely sliced apart about it, by CNN...and is STILL trying to debate/push his “point” with Carson in a private meeting.
Let it go, busTED....you’ve been exposed. Take Carson’s smack down as a lesson learned.
Really? You mean because he protested an unethical and likely illegal action by St. Ted?
The sad thing is that Carson is NOT the nasty guy Ted (or the Donald are-—except Trump doesn’t pretend to be a pope). Carson is a genuinely nice guy who is a genius at what he does. Unfortunately for him, that’s not politics. He’s too nice for the game, and when he tries to go all Ayatollah on Ted, it just doesn’t work.
Haha, Ben will be still talking about this 20 years from now.
Time to move on Ben........
Too late, damage done? This was a minor dustup in the scheme of things, brought on by Carson’s own inept campaign. May the good lord remember all your spilled milk.
“Carson said pointedly that if the meeting with Cruz is scheduled, that does not mean the the senator will be absolved. “
Ben, showing his true Christian spirit. Now we know who the real whining fraudster is.
So is the country with cultists like you running amuck.
Has Dr Carson asked trump for an apology yet? No? It was trump’s nasty attacks which drove Carson’s polls down.
Cruz.s team tweeted a news story. Thats fair game.
Why the hell did Cruz apologize last night? The damage was already done and he’d already denied that he or his staff had done anything wrong, and that no one was going to be disciplined.
OK, I think he’s wrong but that’s nothing new.
So now he feels the need to make a blubbery public apology on national TV a few days before the election? Why?
Either he did something wrong, in which case he better explain his previous mistatement and fire the person responsible, or he’s just made it clear that he is another lying disingenuous ambition-driven politician who will say and do whatever it takes to win. Even s#itting on his “friend” and denying it until he can turn his non-apology into a TV event.
No damage done. It’s too bad this happened, but the blame goes to the Carson team. They’re the ones who gave the story to CNN in the first place. Carson is looking more and more like a jerk over this. You have to see the smirking press conference reply where he refuses to take responsibility for his staff’s actions.
