Why the hell did Cruz apologize last night? The damage was already done and he’d already denied that he or his staff had done anything wrong, and that no one was going to be disciplined.
OK, I think he’s wrong but that’s nothing new.
So now he feels the need to make a blubbery public apology on national TV a few days before the election? Why?
Either he did something wrong, in which case he better explain his previous mistatement and fire the person responsible, or he’s just made it clear that he is another lying disingenuous ambition-driven politician who will say and do whatever it takes to win. Even s#itting on his “friend” and denying it until he can turn his non-apology into a TV event.
No damage done. It’s too bad this happened, but the blame goes to the Carson team. They’re the ones who gave the story to CNN in the first place. So Ted trying to do the Christian thing of reconciling with a brother is a shocking revelation that condemns him somehow? Utterly bewildering. If anything, it highlights more and more that Carson is milking an honest error as a way to attack a good man’s character, which I find reprehensible.
