Saturday night at the GOP debate in New Hampshire belonged to the executives: the governors and the businessman.
Indeed, if Saturday is any indication of what kind of debater Donald Trump can be, then it's safe to say that it really was a mistake for him to skip the Fox News debate before the Iowa caucus. He may very have won it if he had shown this kind of strength and adeptness just days before Iowans went out to vote.

You and I did not watch the same Fox panel. They were spinning it for Rubio right and left. I had to turn back to CNN to get some normalcy.
Chris Christie did the republican voters a favor by whittling that little popinjay Marco Rubio down to size. He is totally unprepared to be the President of the United States and now everybody with a brain knows it. If you are a Rubio guy pick another candidate he’s done.
Yes the marching orders have come down from the GOPe to start circling the wagons around Marco because Jeb is on the way out. Chris Christie did us all a big favor last night.
Yes, my response was intended to show that, that the real issues of the day are ignored by these “journalists”
“He’s not very knowledgeable on the issues.”
Shallow people place far too much importance on that.
One can gain knowledge on issues, but one cannot amend one’s character over a short period of time, if at all.
you’re still worried about my one vote three months from now? :)
God bless ya!
i didn’t know this thing went so dam long. once i found that out, to be honest i lost a lot of interest.
Amen. But there's also what was NOT said. Both Cruz and the one other conservative candidate up there neglected to slam the Selective Service abomination and uphold the Constitutional requirement for Declarations of War.
Trump, with his pomposity and ignorance, is “laying a finger” on himself. The man knows nothing about foreign policy or health care, beyond his vague generalities and assurances that he went to Wharton and will have the “best people”.
Whiff...
lol
Yes, ... basing ones vote on how a candidate makes you feel is a dangerous way to vote. Trumps whole message and show appeals to emotions and that is with purpose...it’s all he’s got that it’s original...everything else he’s borrowed so he can appear as something he’s not.
As a Texan you’re quite aware how solid Cruz is.....and that he did what he said he would do right from the get go when he went to Washington. How fortunate you have been to have this man as your own.
I’m quite certain some of our founding fathers didn’t exactly have the best voices or patterns of speech either....but their messages rang loudly to ears that wanted to hear....true patriots and Americans who loved freedom.
I’m not so certain what we have as Americans today.... it’s not a nation of immigrants rather of freeloaders and criminal elements in one form or another.... With young people so full of entitlement that they can’t see they are part of the problem.
Ted Cruz speaks of the America I love....not in catchy buzz words or self grand standing, but a sincere love and determination to get this country on track. Ted doesn’t wear a cloak....he is the man that he is....honorable and steadfast in his fights past and current for the welfare of this nation and it’s people....
I don’t buy that memorial other than something ore Trump knew he could put his name on as a builder.....though I have no doubt his intentions as honorable regarding the vets....what he actually delivers is certainly open for debate as others have mentioned.
So where was Ted on abortion, on all the issues he says now he cares so about...in his history....especially with the clout and wealth he has.....the only thing he bought was political clout to continue to build his empire....
So no...I won’t buy his stories....he has nothing to evidence it’s anything more than self serving.
The show was excellent!! Tony really kicked ass!
Not “worried”....I just was telling you what was what.
So let me see if I hear you clearly; A candidate that has a deeper knowledge of the issues is the favorite of shallow people? That sounds quite odd.
It seems to me that one would want a good character candidate with a deeper and more thorough knowledge of the issues. But you don’t want that.
I haven’t talked politics with my inner circle.
We’re in California and the vote here is four months away.
Generally things are decided before we get a shot at impacting the decision.
Cruz is attracting some people, but I sure don’t see the attraction. I truly should too, but the guy just turns me off.
I trust Trump more than I do him.
I call him Mr. “Have I Got an Excuse for You”.
Well, I do have to hand it to him. He found a way to lose the after debate polls by 15-20% to 65-85%.
That political strategy worked wonders...
...for my guy.
I think you’re right. I think it’s a pipe-dream that will never be realized.
It must be tough knowing your zenith has already been reached through treachery, and it’s all down hill from here.
Well maybe that’s why Trump is so high in the polls.
You have to differentiate yourself from your opponents.
Think about this. Ted told the media he wouldn’t be bringing up Bills escapades and things like that. Isn’t that basically what you’re addressing here?
How did that work for Bush, Dole, Bush, McCain, and Romney?
You have to go after the other person. This isn’t about being nice. It’s about explaining why the other person is unacceptable, and talking about your own plans too.
Ted can’t abandon part of what it takes to win. It’s one more reason I won’t support him.
Hillary will go after him tooth and nail. He’ll be nice.
No thanks. Been there, done that.
I think so too. Thanks.
I noticed that. He tried to play it off as an unfair question, and she let it be known he had days to contemplate it.
Not a good exchange.
I think he would have done better to say he wouldn’t take any options off the table. North Korea is a rogue nation, and everyone from the U. S. to the U. N. knows it.
