Saturday night at the GOP debate in New Hampshire belonged to the executives: the governors and the businessman.
Indeed, if Saturday is any indication of what kind of debater Donald Trump can be, then it's safe to say that it really was a mistake for him to skip the Fox News debate before the Iowa caucus. He may very have won it if he had shown this kind of strength and adeptness just days before Iowans went out to vote.

Welcome to the club. Once you see what you saw last night (for me it started with the know -it -all-sounding make no sense support of TPA), it never goes away. Stuff just keeps piling up. I’m getting so I don’t even much like Cruz anymore.
There is no way Cruz wins Fla , Ohio , Mich ...
Michigan has really seemed to go all in for Trump, if I understand the things I’ve heard in the last few days.
You’re thoughts are pretty much my own on this. I have to agree.
An item of interest - there was a poll that showed Trump ahead of Hillary in Michigan ... Trump’s message on immigration and trade are resonating in the rust belt states... very important for the general election prospects
“Trump showing such contempt to and for them puts him at the bottom of the pecking order when he’s so ill mannered and blatantly disrespectful of the very office they are running for.”
I reckon Carson is your man then, followed by Bush.
Sorry, our country doesn’t need another Jimmy Carter southern gentleman in the white house. We need an ass kicker to kick some ass this time around.
After Trump does his job, you can have your southern gentleman next time around, OK?
.....”It was Trumpâs turn to speak and as an adult, he needed to keep quiet. Those are the rules.”.....
Unless of course Trump breaks those very rules.....In the a recent Bush vs. Trump debate it went like this....
...Bush criticizes Trump and calls him unserious..... Trump makes faces, then ‘interrupts Bush’ to mock him in harshly personal terms and cite his low poll numbers..... Bush calls Trump unserious some more whereby ‘Trump interrupts’ and makes more faces.....
I’m certain there are videos you can find easily that will certainly attest to how often Trump has been more than just rude while he interrupted candidates......but somehow they all need to play by the rules?????
It’s the old story some can dish it out but can’t take it....the same could be said of Trumps followers as they view candidates making or breaking rules.
was looking at Cruz very differently as well. He says the right things, but he canât inspire or connect as he is saying them.
Unfortunately for Cruz is the fact that he doesn’t have the mojo. He doesn’t inspire. You are correct in that his positions are correct, but his body language, his delivery, his very basic connection to the audience does not inspire. Who wants to follow a leader that does not inspire or connect?
That may have been the poll I saw the other day. It did look good for Trump.
These are issues most of us have been saying would resonate. They are.
I feel like a particularly bad judge of character because I did not pick up on this for so long. He’s not at all the kind of guy I thought he was. To my credit, I really noticed it in his ridiculous victory speech. But tonight I finally noticed his preachery cadence etc. He just doesn’t try to connect with us like Christie or Trump.
Don’t pin your future on a lasting truce.
Yes we will. Whatever the outcome, one of us is going to be disappointed. Se, we wait.
You are absolutely delusional.
The lightbulb began to go off during his so-called fillibujster and then snowballed, faster and faster afvter that performance. His voce pattern has changed and not in a good way.
It is my hope that whichever one of us is initially disappointed, they will over time be more pleased than they thought they would be.
I would suspect Trump’s economics, trade and jobs message resonates strongly in MI. As it will in Pennsy and Ohio. It is the primary reason Trump is the best bet to win this election and to win it handily.
Look it's fine to have someone who knows “How” to do that effectively....but Trump hasn't a clue because whatever slips from his gray matter to tongue has no inhibitory processing that civilization demands...he's like a Neanderthal man. Trump has perfected an artless form of insult that has nothing to do with politically incorrectness.......It's brazenly rude. Further his consistent name calling isnât clever it's childish and pure laziness as if he's a school yard bully attempting 'to hide his insecurities'...and that is what he is doing... Trump ALWAYS takes the low road!
Making vile comments about people is not a revolutionary act, nor should it be a badge of honor that we should bestow upon any man worthy of the President of this Great country.
Furthermore Trump has no history that could or would substantiate anything he says he's going to do for this nation.......He keeps telling his follows...'YOU have to be flexable, I'm going to make deals.........that means he's informed you he's going to do things his way and you were forwarned it would be so.
I will also say that Cruz had managed to maintain a fragile type truce with Trump while surging past him in Iowa to take the prize... I call that genius......and Trump lost the first significant round.
I don't choose my President based on a potential "fall guy" if my guy doesn't win just because I think either is better than any Demorat winning. I make my choice because of who the best man is to take on and do the job this nation needs....and it's a heck of a lot more than some crazed bull in a china closet who thinks it's just about 'Kicking ass".
Well, that is one line of reasoning that makes sense, I think there are a number of then on various topics.
completely biased report
The Governors are irrelevant and should not have been in the debate. They are all past their sell-by dates.
So did Cruz.....2 breezy boys.......whooosh
