Rubio: Being president is not like developing real estate
POLUTICO ^ | February 5, 2016 | Nick Gass

Running a country is not like being a real estate developer or being a governor, Marco Rubio said Friday, firing back on the notion that his political career, and degrees of experience for that matter, are a liability rather than an asset.

During an interview with NBC News, the freshman Florida senator brushed aside concerns that he is "too scripted" and made his case for being the best Republican candidate, arguing that he gives the party the best chance to unify and expand the party and defeat Hillary Clinton in the general election.

He went on to add that "no one running for president is better prepared, has more experience, has shown better judgment, or better understanding than I have, and that is the most important job of a president."

Oh really. And what would you know about running a business or a country senator. I hope he makes this point in the next debate.

Someone should come back with “we already have a one term senator as president and we see the results of that experience”.

Astounding this jack wagon has the audacity to say what he says.

For the record, I will NEVER VOTE FOR RUBIO.

One could make a strong argument for the case that if we had fewer career politicians and more businessmen running the country, it would not be in the sorry state it is today, with a historically high number of potential workers sitting on the sidelines and debt through the roof. A business that tried to run itself the way politicians run the country would go bankrupt in short order.

“his political career”

That’s the problem, with all of them. There should never be career politicians.

People need to dig into his tenure as House Majority Leader in the Florida State House. Everyone keeps saying he was the youngest in history......So what! What did he do to make Florida better? What did he do to make Florida worse? Somebody better be trying to find some dirt.

Rubio is not very well informed.

The management of a large construction project, even steps away in the owners chair, is a more complex task than holding office, even a senate seat

Making the claim indicates ignorance that disqualifies rubio from the job. The statement indicates naivete

I guess Rubio thinks that stabbing his Tea Party supporters in the back with his gang of eight shenanigans and charging his debts to a republican party AMEX card prepared him well for the gig?

“Running a country”

Not the President’s job. We need someone who will perform the constitutional duties of the office.

I’m not a big Trump fan but, you make a great point.

Florida-Gov. Rick Scott-Businessman
Michigan-Gov Rick Snyder-Businessman
Maryland-Gov Larry Hogan-Businessman.

None of these men had previous legislative experience and have done pretty well with their states.

Michigan’s previous Governess, who’s name I refuse to utter was a corporate lawyer who moved to the governorship. She utterly destroyed the state. Her policies directly drove me out of the state to Maryland.

Maryland’s previous governor raised taxes some 80 times and left the state mired I debt. In only one year, while battling cancer, Larry Hogan turned a billion dollar budget deficit into a large surplus. Of course, the dems are trying to figure out how to spend it rather than giving it back to the taxpayers.

I don’t know much about Risk Scott.

I don’t know much about Risk Scott.

Being a Floridian, I can tell you...Rick Scott is just about has the worst political skills ever to run for office...

He's comes across dry as sawdust, speaks like a robot, introverted and sometimes awkward, has contempt for the press, hard to like...

Besides that he's been a pretty good Governor...Runs Florida like a business...

He got off to a rough start, but is and continuing to turn Florida around...
