Jeb Bush said Thursday it was "more than appropriate" for President Barack Obama to speak at a mosque, a departure from several of his Republican rivals.
But, Bush argued, it took too long for Obama to make his first visit to a U.S. mosque as president.
"I don't think it's divisive to go speak in a mosque. I'm surprised it took his eighth year to do it," the former Florida governor told reporters after stopping at a diner here.

“I would have gone to speak at a mosque the day after my inauguration”.
Oh, it’s more than appropriate all right, but not in the way Jeb! means it.
Jeb! is the creepy version of Mr. Rogers. And no one wants to be his neighbor.
actually is an affront to this nation. The USA bows to no nation or religion.
Or at least we didn’t until recently.
Jeb is dumber than dirt
I agree with Jeb. It is quite appropriate for the president to go to a mosque to be with his religious compatriots. Did the Secret Service require the mosque explosives dump to be removed before he spoke there?
At least Mr. Rogers served this nation at one time, and as a sniper to boot. What has Jeb done? other than being the umpteenth son of a political family.
Maybe he could be Hildabeast's veep!!!
Yeah right after appearing at a quinceañerae.
OK. Thanks. Bye.
It’s like he actually wants to lose, isn’t it?
Yes we should not be mean or discriminate against anyone.
BUT we also have NOTHING to apologize to muslims for. They should kiss the butt of America for the protection we afford them from every country they have destroyed.
And we do not need millions of muslims brought here because they bring trouble.
God forbid we should honor a white Christian male, I mean whoever heard of such an outrageous idea!
Jeb quitting his campaign and going home would be more than appropriate.
We need to remember: Back before 9/11, Rove and the Bushes were trying to figure out a way to bring Muslims into the GOP (figuring they could ally with “social conservatives” on hot button issues like gay marriage and abortion). That idea, at least openly, died with several planeloads of Americans. But I have little doubt that Karl isn’t still whispering the idea into the ear of anyone who will listen, in this case, Jeb.
Saudis are probably funding his lousy campaign.
Or he's so sure the nomination will be stolen for him that he wants to rub our faces in it.
