Ben Carson, speaking to reporters at the National Press Club Wednesday, said "it's obvious" that Ted Cruz 's underhanded tactics directly influenced the Iowa caucus results.
"I have been very, very concerned for a very long time about what was happening with our nation and with our government," Carson explained. "Why is it the American people are so restless? Why do they not trust the government?"
"I make no bones about the fact that I am a person of faith," the former neurosurgeon continued. "I believe what it says in Matthew 7:20, the Sermon on the Mount, 'by their fruit you will know them.' Know people not by what they say, but by what they do."
Carson would go on to stress that he hopes the American people not only judge himself, but "all the other people running" for president by that same standard so they are "less likely to make a mistake."
Furthermore, Carson stressed voters "need to think truly about our children" and "what kind of image are we setting for them" by voting for certain candidates.
"Are we holding up the highest values and principles... or are we settling for what we consider to be the best we can get? We can get complete excellence and settle for nothing less."
Carson told CNN's Jake Tapper on Tuesday that while he accepts Cruz's apology, he still believes the Texas senator needs to impose real consequences on his campaign staff.
And what do you mean by this?
What?
Carson can’t make up his mind.
Yesterday said CNN reported his leaving, evidence points to Rubio, jezz
Never took him as a whinner.
Carson seems like a nice guy, but he is as soft as a marshmallow.
If he can’t control his people and messaging and whines instead of taking ownership like a man he should go back to his book tour.
In a sense Carson is right. But in another represents a falsehood.
One could have judged King David by what he did, but God didn’t. On the contrary he called him “a man after God’s own heart”. It is David that Paul quotes in Romans about the blessedness of the man to whom God CREDITS righteousness APART FROM WORKS.
These political Christians are preaching moralism but let no one confuse that with the GOSPEL.
Ted Cruz may have had team players who worked with malice, but it is part of the political process. The interview of CNN, and the confused signals they felt that the doctor was sending, going to Florida, taking time off to attend the prayer breakfast. Tis unfortunate, but Ted Cruz did have an agressive plan, and purposely ran the ball down the ball field, throwing blocks, tackles, and deflecting passes. Game time.
He screwed up a vote against a black man in the name of God?
Don’t think he will go forward well.
I do think somehow Rubio who did what Cruz did got the same benefit without the criticism.
But Carson ‘accepts’ Cruz’s apology.
OK we get it Carson, Rubio has out-bid your base. Just drop out and get behind Marco already.
Carson’s best line regarding Cruz “DC Values”
Saturday night both Cruz and Rubio will be called out. I hope this is the beginning of the end for both of them. If Rubio goes down and Cruz goes with him, that would be a dream come true for me.
Carson playing the victim card. I’ve no sympathy for him because I believe he was indeed planning to get out of the race. It’ll be interesting to see who he throws his support to when he withdraws. Could be very telling.
Is his campaign just one big phony book tour?
AKA his campaign.
NK,
Glad we agree on this.
Ted has proven by actions, he is a phony.
So concerned that he actually registered as a Republican last year.
