Republican presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz said he will not discipline staffers who spread a rumor that Ben Carson was going to drop out of the race in an attempt to get Carson supporters to caucus for Cruz in Iowa. Cruz appeared on the Mike Gallager Show on Wednesday and talked about staffers who pushed a report that Carson wasn't going on to campaign in New Hampshire or South Carolina.

This was a big nothing-burger just like the mailers.
How many precincts did this happen in? Seems like it was a fraction of a percent.
LOL GGG, I was merely put in time out by Jim and thoroughly scolded. I was on a tear. You must have been beyond belief. BTW, Cruz is dishonest, as is his campaign crew. Makes me think of Mississippi. I can not vote for him because of that.
Keep telling yourself that till Tuesday. It was a major major mistake ceding the high ground for the gutter. Cruz surrounded himself with snakes. It is going to bite him, wound him, and ruin any chance he has of ever holding any office in the future. I don’t see him retaining his Senate seat.
I can’t believe that Cruz isn’t doing anything about it. I have been growing increasingly disappointed in him, but now I’m questioning why I ever considered him as a candidate.
Its sounds like Cruz has no standards, no honor, and is an adept knife-fighter/assassin. It also sounds like he probably gives real flexible rules of engagements to his subordinates.
It actually may be what it takes to defeat Hillary.
(I don’t think weakness wins... just look at the Bangledeshi-adopted daughter thing with McCain/Bush in South Carolina — I would have demanded a public apology from Bush or challenged him to a duel)
Okay, now I understand.
I must say I am surprised too.
I didn’t think he was what he was trying to pass himself off as, but the mailers and then lying to Carson’s supporters.
True colors...
The guy was so desperate.
Think hard back to LBJ. Cruz has always reminded me of him in many ways. Including I would not trust him as VP as I would expect the President to die to get him the Presidency. I know that is a really horrible thing to say, I just see that in my mind.
I don’t think you have anything to worry about along those lines.
I know you’re not totally alone on the Johnson thing, but I don’t think that’s accurate.
I hope you are right.
Cruz wouldn’t be my biggest fear on this.
The GOPe and other power players (groups) stand to lose a lot with a Trump presidency.
That wall alone just about destroys the NAU in one fell swoop.
Yes, although I really think all except Trump and possibly Huckabee and Paul are the only ones not involved.
I think you’re right from what I’ve read.
To believe that Cruz “stole” through a forwarded TWEET, you have to believe that a video or a cartoon causes Islamic terrorism.
Another excellent example of Cruz supporter logic.
Thank you.
How bout you let us Texans worry about Mr. Cruz retaining his Senate seat, if need be. That’s OUR job.
He said he isn’t throwing anyone under the bus.
What do you suggest he do? Let Carson bully him into firing someone? Anyone? Whom should be fired?
Not true. CNN's tweet was at 4:43 pm. Steve King's was at 5:20.
I don’t expect anything of him at this point. I made a mistake in my previous support of him, which I now regret.
