Has Donald Trump Already Decided to Run Third Party?
Red State ^ | February 3, 2016 | Leon H. Wolf

Posted on 02/03/2016 9:11:54 AM PST by Cincinatus' Wife

As far as I can tell, Donald Trump's grieving process works more or less completely in the reverse order from what you would expect from a rational human being. Immediately after the event, Trump was more or less in acceptance mode, saying he was proud of finishing second, he loved the people of Iowa, he was going to come back and buy a farm there.

Then he went into depression, secluding himself for an uncharacteristically long time from twitter and the media.

Working backwards, he skipped over bargaining and went straight to anger, blaming the media and their unfair treatment of him.

Then this morning, he went into denial mode, basically saying that the Iowa loss never even happened and there should be a do over.

But if you look deeper into Trump's twitter rant this morning, and you have some understanding of both his neuroses and the cynical way he plays his followers, you can see that Trump has already decided how he will react to a loss in the GOP primaries, if he suffers one: he will refuse to accept the results and run third party.

Look at what Trump is doing here. He is complaining about a series of events that are, by any objective measure, ordinary politics, and he is treating them as evidence of "fraud" or that the results of Iowa were somehow completely illegitimate.

As Trump always does, he is clearly pre-complaining about anything even potentially damaging to him as the result of "unfair" treatment or a fixed, "unfair" process. If he should lose New Hampshire, he will do it again, even though the RNC booted National Review from the upcoming debate in order to mollify him (and yet allowed an openly anti-Cruz moderator onto the stage).

Trump is prepping his followers to bolt with him for a third party run if he loses the nomination. In fact, if he loses New Hampshire and South Carolina, he may just do it pre-emptively. I suspect this is a decision he has already made. Now, I know that he will probably not be able to get on the ballot at this late date in many states, but the point will not be to win, it will be to damage the Republican nominee, which has been Trump's goal from the beginning of this process.

Personally, I think a three way race between Cruz/Rubio, Trump, and Hillary will end up pretty well for the GOP. There's a lot of evidence that a majority of Trump's support comes from disaffected Democrats, and there are plenty of Democrats who are less than enthused about voting for Hillary.

I just wish that if Trump were not man enough to accept the will of the electorate, that he would go ahead and declare that he's running third party and save us all a lot of trouble.

Well it’s from Redstate. Redstate is part of the Salem Media group which now includes Townhall, Human Events, Regnery, Eagle Publishing and their radio network.

Salem’s radio network might as well be the official voice of the GOP establishment. Give a listen to Michael Medved and Hugh Hewitt and you’ll get the idea. Their online properties like Redstate are more of the same. Marco Rubio will be their golden boy now that Jeb! has flamed out.

You transposed Trump with Cruz. It’s s simple mistake, but you should be more careful. People will think you’re an idiot.

I did some research on the sore loser(man) laws, but I saw some info that it generally didn’t affect the President/VP race. I haven’t been able to follow up on that, but we have enough resources here to figure that out.

Front runner? There has been one vote. He came in second.

Reread my post. I said, "Front runners." That includes Trump, Cruz, and Carson as the major targets of the GOPe.

You have an article about fabricated speculation.
I respond that there is NOTHING Trump said about third party runs after Iowa, so where is your beef? Prove Trump has called for his campaign to go third party at this time.
I them point out Trump is only in the news regarding Cruz possible multiple incidents of campaign fraud and even then nothing about a third party.

So let us review:
#1: Dream fabrication article about a Third Party run.
#2: Problem for you is there is no reported such run by Trump known to mankind at this time.
#3: Only thing with Trump in the news is regarding Cruz potential violations of election law.
So this article is what it is and is probably being salivated upon all over DU, congrats.

All this makes for interesting speculation, but remember the PUMAs who were going to punish ObaMao's mistreatment of Hillary by throwing the election to McCain? Really big factor, weren't they?

Plus, I wonder how many of them are voting for Trump because they see him as the easiest opponent to beat? If things really start to slip away for Hillary, how many of them will come home? How many of them will stick with Trump in November?

I can't say and neither can you.

He's been thick with all the Democratic Party leadership.

Which is why I view him as a sheep in wolf's clothing. He's starting to look, sound and smell like a Dem plant. The sooner the Right gets behind Cruz, the sooner we can start to build a machine that will steamroll Hillary, Obama and all his muslim sycophants.

Let’s stop this rumor in its tracks. No way he will do that or should he do that.

He has too much integrity.

Have the last few years under a GOPe House and last year under a GOPe Senate been good for you?

Nothing is going to improve with the GOPe.

You left out xenophobes, bigots and nativists. Might as well use the full leftwing talking points.

What Cruz is doing goes far beyond “massaging the truth”. He has hired a team of experts who specialize in lying. Read Sarah Palin’s most recent facebook post:

“Dirty Politics: Witnessing Firsthand It’s Always Heartbreaking, Never Surprising

Thank heavens Donald Trump opened so many eyes to the lies, corruption and total lack of accountability that come so naturally to the permanent political class. And Sen. Ted Cruz was spot on when he once noted that “millions of Americans are asking for accountability and truth.” Which is why it’s so curious - and saddens us - this lack of accountability with the lies of Cruz’s own campaign.

Cruz’s campaign chairman, U.S. Representative Steve King, is lying, and good for Dr. Ben Carson for calling this out. King, who’s previously asked for and received my endorsement, time and resources to support his own election, is still lying about my altruistic support of Mr. Trump, and he’s refused to provide any evidence to the contrary. And, this U.S. Congressman actually lied to his own constituents on behalf of Cruz, regarding a good man, Dr. Carson. He told voters Carson was dropping out of the Presidential race immediately before the Iowa caucus, causing a relative uproar inside the process, so the word would spread and he could rack up more votes for his candidate, Cruz. That’s a dirty trick. Dr. Carson deserved better. The voters deserved better!

Where is the accountability for these political actions? Very sad; typical Washington tactics. THIS is why “the status quo has got to go.”

Our friend Dr. Carson put it so well:

“As Christians, of course we accept people’s apologies, we also have to ask ourselves is this acceptable to us, the American people, or should there be some accountability? There should be some consequences for things. You don’t just say ‘oh, okay, sorry… okay let’s move on.’ The damage was done to me, it wasn’t done to them.”

We’ve had eight years of a reckless President, accountable to no one, pushing this country to the brink. Why would we ever take a risk repeating that? We are never going to turn this country around if we keep electing “more of the same.” Just like conservatives have been preaching in opposition to Obama’s political tactics for years: actions speak louder than words.

The Cruz Campaign’s actions to destroy a good man’s efforts to serve are no different than Obama’s practice of not holding anyone accountable. Typical politics. Typical politicians.
