Ted Cruz apologized to Dr. Ben Carson on Tuesday after the Texas senator's campaign was accused of trying to sabotage his opponent's chances in the Iowa caucuses.
Cruz's campaign blasted out a report Monday night that suggested Carson was going home to Florida instead of campaigning after the Iowa caucuses - something Cruz said Tuesday is "fair game" - but admitted that the campaign should have corrected that report when it became clear Carson wasn't dropping out of the race. He was just going home to get "fresh clothes."

Lying is a mortal sin?
We’re all doomed then and none of this matters.
So when Trump said he had his lawyers look into whether Cruz was eligible to run and he said it looked okay and then when he fell behind in the Iowa polls he suddenly started calling Cruz a Canadian and mocking him about running in Canada instead and saying if you vote for Cruz you could be throwing your vote away was in neither instance a lie?
What kind of sin is it to cheat on your wives many times and brag about it by writing a book about it?
What kind of sin is it to sleep with other peoples wives and brag about it by writing a book about it?
What kind of sin is it to run a strip club in a casino?
Grow up and get a clue.
But I like it even more when I have a video of Ted Cruz lying. Here we have Cruz doing a very good job of lying according to Ted Cruz
I can’t tell what that twitter person was trying to say about that - if it was a fake tweet or not.
But if it was a real tweet then it would seem that the Cruz campaign claimed that they DID talk to Carson’s camp and CArson’s people confirmed it. If so, that could be where they got the claim in their email that Carson would be making a big announcement next week. When asked directly where they got it from they would then have kept silent because it really would be tacky for them to make Carson’s announcement for him.
However, I don’t know if that tweet is for real because I don’t know if Carson HAS a NH campaign staff any more. CArson’s NH people (superPAC, though, so I don’t know if that counts as Carson’s campaign staff...) all quit to join the Cruz campaign. Maybe when they got with the Cruz people they said CArson had told them he was going to drop out? I don’t know.
What seems clear, though, is that Carson will be dropping out. They’ve dealt with a lot, with the accident that killed one of their people and Carson suspending his campaign to take care of that. I feel badly about all that and think Carson is a good guy. I just don’t understand why he’s pinning this on Cruz rather than CNN. Carson’s NH people clearly didn’t want their time and effort to go down with Carson’s ship, and Carson shouldn’t be stringing along his supporters if he’s not going to campaign.
You’re not going to tell me Ted Cruz’s lie now because you just know that Cruz is a liar. You’ll point to other instances where you’re willing to claim Cruz is a liar. Are they just like this one, when you cannot tell me what the supposed lie even was? All the allegations of lying - even if they’re totally weak because nobody can cite what was untrue or prove that Cruz knew it was untrue - lead to statements like “Cruz is such a liar”, etc. In Christian terms those baseless claims of lying - that cannot be established by the facts - are called “bearing false witness”. A person’s gppd reputation is not to be stolen from them. And it seems like a lot of “concerned Christians” on this board are plenty willing to do it.
If he’s lied about Carson, show the lie - otherwise, calling him a liar on this is just good old-fashioned slander, and it makes me doubt whether your other claims of Cruz lying are also just good old-fashioned slander.
Adultery is another big no no. Trump will one day face his maker and atone for his sins.
While we are all sinners lying about someone else is a particularly nasty sin. Cruz is starting to get a reputation as a dirty campaigner and as a liar. I think he deserves that rep and I hope it sticks.
‘What was Ted Cruzâs lie? Quote it to me.’
I quoted you a straight up, shameless Cruz lie yesterday. Is your position that it’s ok to lie about Trump as long as—trashing the Golden Rule—you technically don’t lie about Carson?
I didn’t rebut what you gave as “evidence” because it was changing the subject. I’m not going to go on goosechases. I’ve wasted too much time trying to reason with people on this situation.
What I’m finding is that people are not very interested in the truth. And it disgusts me. I hate politics. An utter waste of time. As intelligent as a gladiator fight but less compassionate.
Suffice to say that I do not concede anything to you, and I’m still waiting for you to cite what Cruz said that was factually incorrect and your proof that Cruz knew it was factually incorrect. Lotta people making “slimy” accusations without being willing to even state their case, and that is NOT moral, much less “Christian”.
‘And I wonder how much of Cruz’s lead was folks who were fooled by stuff like the dirty tricks against Carson.’
I’m wondering how much mileage he got out of the bold faced lying ad he did about Trump. From the feedback Iowans gave re the ad, probably quite a lot.
Cruz’s campaign told their local people that media reports were saying that Carson was not going to NH and SC. That is factually correct so it can’t be a lie. CNN did say that. And Carson’s official campaign website has no campaign events listed, anywhere.
They also said that Carson would be making a big announcement next week. When asked for the source of that comment Cruz’s campaign would not comment but if you look at one of my latest posts, a now-deleted tweet by Cruz’ campaign staffer seems to claim that they spoke to Carson’s people who confirmed that he was quitting. If so, then that could be the source for that claim and they didn’t want to divulge that because Carson should be able to make his own drop-out announcement on his own time.
You have said that lyin gabout somebody is a particularly nasty sin. I don’t know the details about the eminent domain ad but it sure seems to me that you are lying about Cruz lying about Carson. And I say that because I have shown that your claim of a Ted Cruz lie is not factually correct and you have been given that evidence in this thread and you’re still making the claim so you are making the claim even though should know it’s not true.
As you’ve said, lying is serious. Why are you doing it?
http://theconservativetreehouse.com/2015/11/11/senator-ted-cruz-did-support-tpa/
You conveniently left out the part about Carson going to the National Prayer Breakfast WHICH IS TOMORROW, by the way.
The Cruz people read something into this report THAT WASN'T THERE, and they ran with it.
That was dishonest, irresponsible, and sleazy.
Cruz claimed Trump got rich using eminent domain. That is completely false Trump has not ever acquired a single square inch of property via eminent domain.
Cruz said he did not know he was a Canadian citizen. While I have no direct proof that this is a lie, I is beyond belief that a Harvard educated constitutional lawyer would not know that his birth in Canada made him a citizen of Canada.
Ted Cruz now says that he opposes legalization for illegals. However he made a seemingly sincere argument in favor of legalization for illegals. So I ask you, was he lying then or is he lying now when he said "I want immigration reform to pass"?
If you like we can next discuss Ted Cruz lying about this vote for Obamatrade.
I haven’t followed everything closely so I don’t know for sure but I think he said that his leadership lied to him about that. I think he gave a speech talking about how the R leadership’s lies mean all-out war, and he is now taking harsh heat because “nobody likes him”, “he doesn’t know how to get along with other people”, etc. because he called out the lies.
Like I said, I haven’t followed closely so I could be wrong but that’s the impression that I have.
Is the prayer breakfast a campaign stop?
Wow, that’s revealing.
Please explain how going from Iowa to Florida and then to DC equates to dropping out of the race?
Should your guy come under the full attack of the uniparty that Trump has endured I will enjoy every insult directed at him, I will smile at every lie told about him and I'll laugh when he is reduced to a caricature of himself. And should he run for reelection here in Texas I'll work against him. You and CW have done a wonderful job of promoting your candidate /s. Before you and the other vicious members of team Cruz started your constant attacks on Trump, Cruz was a strong second choice of mine. Now I will do all I can to see he is never elected to any office ever again.
I am not going to go on a wild goosechase to factcheck everything in the world. I don’t have time for that and I have already seen the willingness by political operatives to lie. And that’s you. I have pointed out that you are lying when you say that Cruz lied about Ben CArson. You have not acknowledged your sin on this or repented. Why should I let you take me on another wild goosechase when you’ve already demonstrated unrepentant lying?
Regarding the eminent domain ad, I remember hearing something about that and thinking that Trump didn’t succeed in using eminent domain so that wasn’t true. It wasn’t for lack of trying so the general idea of Trump’s motivation - to use eminent domain for his own financial gain - was accurate. He did use eminent domain in an attempt to get richer. He didn’t succeed at it. So sort of true, sort of not - which is probably the case with most campaign ads.
Like I said, I hate politics. An utter waste of time because everybody lies or utters half-truths. We’ve seen it right here on this thread - people such as yourself who, like Cruz, claim they take the higher ground and point their fingers at anybody else who ALSO claims the higher ground but spreads half-truths just like they do.
Human nature sucks. That’s the moral of this whole political crap story. God help us all!
Agreed. The ONLY reason this has legs is because CNN reported it and it completely has a ring of truth. Carson is not doing well, there’s been multiple reports of money problems and he’s the one that said he’s not going to NH right away which was a real head scratcher.
It’s a deduction anyone would have made; doesn’t make it sinister.
