I haven’t followed everything closely so I don’t know for sure but I think he said that his leadership lied to him about that. I think he gave a speech talking about how the R leadership’s lies mean all-out war, and he is now taking harsh heat because “nobody likes him”, “he doesn’t know how to get along with other people”, etc. because he called out the lies.

Like I said, I haven’t followed closely so I could be wrong but that’s the impression that I have.

And you believe that one of the best constitutional lawyers in the country was fooled? Really?

You should review the record on the first TPA vote. Cruz cheer leaded the effort to pass TPA. Cruz ever wrote an op-ed urging Congress to pass TPA. Now he claims Mitch tricked him into voting for it. Another bald face lie.

“I don’t know for sure but I think he said that his leadership lied to him about that.”

That is true; Cruz did blame leadership. He weasel-worded his excuse by saying that he believed Mitch McConnell. That, in itself, is a serious display of lack of discernment. A conservative would never believe McConnell.
