Hillary Clinton wins ALL 6 (SIX) precinct/delegate coin flips -- Odds: 1 in 64 (1.56%)

Dueling Democrats Hillary Clinton and Sen. Bernie Sanders were at a dead heat during the Iowa caucus, but their numbers were even closer at a Polk County precinct.

Delegates with Des Moines’ Precinct 70 sided with Clinton after breaking a 61-61 split with a coin toss, Univision reported. Caucus rules allow for a coin flip to decide a victor in case of a tie.

CLINTON, SANDERS IN TIGHT CONTEST AS IOWA CAUCUSES OPEN

The coin landed heads-down in favor of Clinton at the Weeks Middle School gymnasium.

“That’s how it works,” one voter sporting Sanders stickers said. “It was very, very close. Remember this is a caucus.”

Another coin flip awarded Clinton additional delegates during a precinct tie in Davenport and in Ames, where 60 voters walked out in the middle of the caucus, according to the Des Moines Register.

As of early Tuesday, Clinton and Sanders were separated by mere points in Monday's caucus.

She addressed supporters alongside former President Bill Clinton and their daughter, Chelsea Clinton. Sanders emerged from his hotel shortly after Clinton’s speech to an auditorium full of chanting supporters.

“It looks like we are in a virtual tie,” said Sanders, remarking on the close tally of points.

Coin flips & chds....

What a way to run a country. I can see coin flips for a local small town mayor race-—but for this? OUCH!!!

Do not confuse actual votes with delegates.

The Dems in Iowa use a delegate system-—voters select a number of delegates in each precinct.

The Republicans count actual votes.

Tails up is how Bill preferred things. (Or so I've heard)

He was known to enjoy heads going down from time to time as well.

Thanks. It struck me as odd the way the numbers looked.

As a matter of democracy, if you're elderly, disabled, handicapped, whatever and can't come out to stand for hours in the icy cold and then sit on the hardwood floor inside...can you vote by absentee ballot in the "democratic" caucus system? Or is this segment of the population shut out? I didn't see any wheel chairs all night long. Does anyone know if there's absentee voting?

Then, when crowds inside are herded to stand under their respective candidates' banners, what happened to the American "secret ballot" concept? This stupidity is off-putting and can cause countless potential voters to stay home.

Prescient comments, minutegal.
I had forgotten how chaotic caucuses are!
No secret voting!
No chairs to sit, for a couple of hours?
No provisions for the handicapped or very old?

No wonder all it took was 7300 votes from 3,107,000
state population to declare a winner.
Only 6% of Iowans total showed up for GOP caucus.
Caucuses are a joke!

AGREED!

America probably shook their collective head watching IOWA caucuses! It is a terribly intimidating process and there may be a cause for a law suit on accommodation grounds, as well as intimidation.

250.000 at rallies and only 50.000 of them voted makes no sense. Same scenario with Mitt Romney. There is NO way he lost the election. Same with Allen West and others. Computer counting is a disaster and will always be!

Last week a ‘Nerd” hacked into our bank account and lifted up $500.00+ to pay utility bills in California!!

Voter frauds has been proven over and over again and is a FIX in the making!!!

IIRC Romney did NOT get a single vote in some county in Pennsylvania, NOT one vote, hello, not possible ???

Looks like it may not be a real hack job. Because then the nerd would have cashed out all your money from account.

My guess is he used your bank account number either intentionally or by mistake.

Remember, every time we write a check, the recipient has your bank account number. I have not used a check to pay most anything for 15+ years. I Pay everything on-line and never have a problem.

Sounds like our HOA. 350 residents; two women run everything because only 4 people showed up to vote for a board that is supposed to have 6 people.

Purpose of HOA = make money for the management company!
I was on a condo board for 17 years. When we managed the building ourselves, our management cost was $35/mo. Then the owners changed over time, we had to hire a management company and our monthly fees increased by $120.

Excellent points all that MinuteGal and you made, and bears repeating, which I just did above, lol.
