The Carson camp claimed Cruz's team spread false rumors at caucus sites that Carson had dropped out.
Ben Carson was incensed as the results of Monday night's Iowa caucuses rolled in, accusing the winner of spreading falsehoods about him at caucus sites.

That’s fine. I’m willing to vote for imperfection. There’s no other option. On the other hand, there has been a significant segment of Cruz supporters who are completely anti-Trump because he’s not pure and principled like Cruz. This is for them. If they would acknowledge that their candidate is flawed like all the others, then perhaps they would be able to have an honest discussion about the pros and cons of the various candidates and make their assessment based on that. That’s not possible when you continue to believe your guy is perfect.
“Cruz was doing this from 5pm on down...”
*CRUZ* wasn’t doing sh!t. Caucus goers can say whatever they want based on the reports they see on the news.
Lots of accusations. What are the facts? Who said what, specifically?
What did Cruz say that you find offensive, specifically?
Looks like the Cruz team simply tweeted a CNN report. CNN reported that Carson was bowing out. CNN.
Good info, CW.
it is safe to be pro-Cruz and Anti-trump on Freeper.
GO CRUZ.
Off to NH for me.
You sure do like that phrase, don't you?
But it's still BS.
You understand that the tweet didnât come from Ted Cruz, right?
Neither Cruz, nor his campaign, tweeted that. Someone with a handful of followers tweeted that.
Regardless, the original report came from CNN. That’s a screenshot of CNN, right?
You say that a lot.

Do you hate Christians? Do Christians just lie?
Seems like an appropriate term for the justified dishonesty taking place. Maybe it will catch on.
You think that Evangelicals lie? That it’s a “thing” that Evangelical Christians do?
Carson is a great man but the first 2 seconds of his voice tells you he is not going to be president.
Cruz and his holy rollers seem to do a lot of misleading and lying by omission lately and his followers here are justifying unchristian behavior. So taqiyya seems to fits nicely. It’s an end justifies the means word. Yeah, I’m turned off by a lot of them now the more I get to know them. Kinda sad.
So where did that Tweet come from? I found this Twitter account, with fewer than 4,000 followers:
https://twitter.com/TedCruzPOTUS
Is that the account that supposedly tweeted out this CNN screenshot?
A lot of people do care about what Cruz is doing.
What are your sources for the timeframe involved? What evidence is there of Carson denying these claims and Cruz’s campaign spreading the rumor - all BEFORE 5pm?
What campaign is pointing to a tweet from Steve King, and where can I see what that campaign said about King’s tweet?
Is the Steve King tweet verified as from him, ‘cause the Ted Cruz tweet is not verified as being from him.
That twitter account seems to genuinely be Steve King; there are photos there that probably only King would have. If King has endorsed Carson as claimed elsewhere, then he must have changed his mind to say that it’s a 2-person race and his guy now is Cruz. The photos there are of him with Cruz.
My wife and I are thrilled and hopeful after last night's results. Congratulations!
This morning, I woke up and decided to make another, larger contribution to the campaign. My wife agreed. But then, we heard the news. Now, we'll wait until after New Hampshire to see if the campaign is finished shooting itself in the foot. ...
The news report said Steve King (our favorite Congressman and your national co-chair) and the campaign Tweeted before the start of the caucus that Ben Carson is pulling out, and Cruz-ers like us should spread the word.
Given I was the one who stood up and spoke on Ted's behalf to over 300 attendees at our caucus site, I thank God I did not receive that "news" prior to speaking, since I definitely would have passed the word on, believing Steve King and the Cruz campaign were trustworthy sources.
So here we have another campaign debacle. First it was that deceptive, made-to-look-official mailer intended to shame people into going to their caucus (sure, other campaigns use similar tactics but, is that who we are?). Now, it's a false (deceptive?) Tweet hoping to pull votes from Carson supporters. At best, everyone failed to verify the original source. It looks bad and in many ways, perception is reality. Regardless of the truth, how it looks matters.
For now, we're waiting and watching to see what happens.
Disappointed and hopeful,
[Mr. and Mrs. newgeezer]
How can we find the history of tweets by “Ted Cruz 2016”? That is not Ted Cruz. Cruz’s actual twitter handle is tedcruz@tedcruz. And I think his government twitter handle is tedcruzsenate. I don’t use Twitter and can’t figure out how to find the tweet history of “Ted Cruz 2016”.
That tweet was 33 seconds before 7pm. The image on that tweet is CNN at 6:45, according to the timestamp in the upper left corner of the screen.
I’m not on the email list of any of the candidates. Do we have people here who are on the email list of Cruz’s campaign? If so, did they receive the email that claims to be from Cruz’ campaign?
I need to do some more checking but there seems to be a person involved in shenanigans with this. More later, hopefully.
