Trump vows to pay legal fees of supporters who 'knock the crap' out of tomato-throwers.

Donald Trump got word from his security detail in Cedar Rapids on Monday that there could be someone in the audience with tomatoes -- so Trump reportedly decided to go ahead and take precautions.

"If you see somebody getting ready to throw a tomato, knock the crap out of them," Trump urged his supporters. Were anyone to feel concern about being prosecuted for assault in such a scenario, Trump reassured that, "I promise you, I will pay for the legal fees."

The smear merchants at The Week set up a classic straw man, claiming that Trump's lead had been 50 percent to Cruz' 23 percent, and that it has shrunk dramatically -- I'd never seen any number for Trump higher than 32.
Iowans don't vote, they caucus. The Republicans have a secret ballot system, but the Democrats in Iowa do something a little more elaborate. Not sure how it all works? Vermont Public Radio made a handy video spelling it out -- with Lego.

Did mr Trump really say that?! I have to say I’m been getting a bit concerned about him — please someone tell us he didn’t really encourage his supporters to physically assault the fruited-aholes!?

He did say it and was simply advocating aggressive self and candidate defense.

Who knows what these deranged Leftists would throw? What do you want to do? Wait until some nut throws acid or ground glass around a crowd?

Why are you “concerned?”

If I saw some jerk throwing a tomato or whatever at my candidate - yeah, I drop him to the floor like a bag of rocks without even a second thought. But, then, I’m “old fashioned” that way - not a “metrosexual” wuss.

I kinda like that approach scaled up to the national level. Just like CCW discourages evil doers, the threat of having the crap kicked out might discourage some nitwit who thinks it’s his right to disrupt a rally that others want to hear.

TR didn’t urge carrying a big stick just because he liked trees.

What is wrong with stopping someone from committing an assault? If a person is throwing an object to harm another person, there is nothing wrong with stopping it. Or if someone wants to defend themselves with a gun they need to be shot first before they can respond.

Trump is acting like any normal non-gelded male would. Why should he sit up there & be that kind of a target for these deranged leftists ?

I like the sentiment but open advocacy of physical assaults does concern me nevertheless. Escorting the tomato people out, ok. Beating the crap out of them — not ok in my book anyway - it sounds too much like a Clinton or Mussolini type way of running a public meeting Perhaps I’m not expressing my concern very well, sorry. I’m having trouble figuring out the right words. Anyway - thanks for your thoughts!

Ok to escort tomato people out But I am concerned about the “beating the crap out of them” part. I’m also having difficulty finding the right words here do will drop it for now - thanks for your thoughts!

If someone next to me was about to hurtle some object at Mr. Trump I'd kick him right in the you-know whats and then run and stand behind a security guard and watch the perp writhe.
