Bloomberg News' former top editor, Al Hunt, says GOP candidate Jeb Bush has been "savaged" by Washington-outsider Donald Trump.
Alongside various self-inflicted mistakes and hits from Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), "Jeb Bush suffered most from being savaged by Mr. Trump, the billionaire developer, who derided him, insulted his family ties and mocked him with the lasting epithet that he was 'low energy,'" Hunt writes in a column at the New York Times.
Hunt explains that Bush missed an opportunity in the first half of 2015 to define himself as a reform candidate and to showcase conservative credentials that appeal to the base of the Republican Party.
The author, however, fails to mention the two fast-changing areas that have contributed to Bush's rejection by the party's conservative and populist base: first, Bush's unpopular support for amnesty for illegal immigrants, and, second, his refusal to reject the unpopular Common Core state standards.

Savaged.
Oh my.
The Bush’s are done. JEB needs to accept that fact.
Going in witness protection.
Savaged....probably isn’t the right word. Jeb was not prepared for running in this election....out of sync...doesn’t really fit into public mood or frustration...he was the inside-insider and it won’t sell in 2016.
Trump sliced and diced Bush early and often.
Bush never recovered.

His family brand is damaged beyond repair and he himself is a weaker candidate than his brother, who was the weakest president (in terms of defending ideas that he supposedly believes in) in American history.
Trump hit the nail on the head with Low Energy. But even if Trump didnt SAY it, all of us would be able to SEE it.
Turns out Jeb is a weak-kneed pansy with a sour personality.
Jeb’s campaigning in Spanish to illegals didn’t help him at all.
Jeb’s chances turned out to be about as good as Chelsea Clinton’s will be 10 years down the road.
Adios Jebe.
Go peddle your secret guacamole recipe in Mexico. Then you can run for Presidente in Mexico!
Better savaged by Trump than by the media after he became the nominee.
Silly Savagery, indeed.
Put a fork in Jebby. He be done.
I feel sorry for Jeb’s turtle.
If he’s not ready to be POTUS, he sure ain’t ready for the failed state ruled by the cartels.

I’m surprised how awful a candidate Jeb has been. Not sure if he’s really as bad as he comes across, or if Trump just got inside his head.
Trump calls all the other candidates names. They’re “hacks,” “losers,” “low energy,” “stupid,” “Canadians,” etc. It’s a very high level of discourse. He can say kind and praising things, if it’s about himself.
Yeb! has never once been able to successfully parry a slam from Trump, and furthermore, his attempts have been pathetic and strangely homoerotic. Warm kisses, calling people his little teddy bear.
At this point I find myself wondering is Trump is the only candidate that doesn’t register on the autism spectrum. :D
Thank you Donald Trump for saving us from having Yeb! be The Designated Loser for The Cheap Labor Express.
Yeb! really is that bad of a candidate.
He’s a Democrat in an R jersey and wierdly creepy.
